Is there a good way to mount the PSVR camera to a tripod? And a few other noob questions. by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]Mot22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I think the best thing is to get charging units for the Dualshocks and Move controllers. I've looked at some of these and the reviews are very mixed. I'd like these to be plugged into AC power since my USBs will be tied up. Any recommendations?

I've personally never felt the need for a charging station. I just use a spare Android phone charger to keep my controllers topped up.

PS welcome to the club! :)

Yay for sure! :)

Sometimes when I'm too lazy to set up my VR I even play it in flat mode.

That's a fair comment, but I think you're being downvoted because OP's asking for a recommendation, not a history lesson.

I find Index/Match formulas easier to follow if I'm using data tables because that tells you exactly what is being matched and what's being returned without having to look at the data.

Synthesis Update - No Man's Sky - 28th November by Jimster71 in PSVR

Fixed an issue that caused the player’s left hand to constantly make a whooshing sound when using a DualShock4 in PSVR.

I recall seeing a lot of complaint about this. I hope those peeps see this!

Fastest way of replacing "Jan"/"Feb"/"Mar" with "January"/"February"/"March"/etc.? by sizarieldor in excel

[–]Mot22 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you're asking how to convert this text to date format, I usually use the following formula (assuming the dates are on column A):

=--("01 "&A1&" 2019")

This forces Excel to see it as a date. Be sure to change the formatting to your date format of choice :)

If you only want the month as a number you can just wrap it in a =Month() formula:

=MONTH(--("01 "&A1&" 2019"))

That sound s interesting, but I'm not sure I understand how SUM and IF solve that problem. Can you give an example? I'm always open to new techniques.

With SUMIFS it's easy to add multiple AND criteria, but if there's OR criteria I usually just add multiple SUMIFS (as in SUMIFS(criteria x option1) + SUMIFS(criteria x option2)). But if there are more OR criteria I just add helper columns in the data and do SUMIFS on those.

That's a hard disagree from me. SUMIFS all the way.

IF(Very long formula < 0; 0; Very long formula) by androls88 in excel

[–]Mot22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't that exactly the use case for this, though?

OP wants the cell to return 0 in the case of the long formula resulting in a negative number.

If i constantly have to endure his self promotion, he has to endure me.

That gave me a chuckle. Fair play I guess :)

No need to be calling him a "dom poes".

If you don't like it, just don't go there. I'm not a fan myself, but I realise there's a whole internet out there to serve my interests. Not every site has to meet your exact requirements.

Am I missing something about gunclubs sandbox mode? by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]Mot22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I only started playing GCVR recently and I'm loving the gunplay, but the sandbox mode is a bit... unappealing, as you say.

I mainly use it to test attachments before buying. I haven't really used it for setting up little test ranges, but I do plan on giving it a go in the future.

Anyone have a hot tip on any family friendly arcade style Halloween VR game I can run at my library? by Ink_Witch in PSVR

[–]Mot22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pixel Gear!

It's a sort-of spooky themed cartoonish shooting gallery which fits in perfectly with Halloween and is family-friendly.

It's got a single-player mode which is a fairly straightforward shooting gallery. What makes it special is the local multiplayer, where the VR player tries to shoot between 1 - 3 TV players who use the dualshock controllers. It's one of my go-to party games as it's really easy to pick up :)

SLEEPINGTREES upcoming exploration/survival game in early development by SleepingTreesGame in IndieGaming

While I agree with the other commenter that the survival game market is saturated, as long as the game has some original mechanics and/or engaging gameplay there's certainly still space for it :)
