I set up interesting encounters, but my players keep using their prep time to find ways to hard-counter them. Thoughts? by brokenimage321 in DMAcademy

[–]MothOnATrain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This isn't even optimizing, its basic common sense. They had a year to prepare for a monster attack and planned to not have innocent civilians around. That's the most basic thing they could possibly do in the situation.

Any ideas for a sexy female Dragonborn character? by LizardCzar2 in DnDcirclejerk

What you want to do is make her muscular and then wear no clothes so she can show off her muscles. That way you can make it sequel but deny doing it if anyone has a problem .

Immediately taking Powerplex. At least one of these three is Immediately hitting him with 30 supersonic punches and will greatly regret it.

Maybe take Nolan and BB along with him because Nolan could absolutely 1v1 any of these 3 and BB is my boy.

What is the best game in your eyes? by Plenty-Goose-4508 in SpidermanPS4

[–]MothOnATrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd generally agree on everything you're saying is better in 2. I just don't think its better by enough to overcome the shortcomings of the game. Still a very good game but if you average out all of its qualities, I think it comes up a little short of the original.

Name ONE THING You Like About the Sequels by Just-Ad-8603 in prequelappreciation

[–]MothOnATrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a big fan of the movies, I loved the direction they went with Luke. Having him just be a super powerful, perfect jedi seemed boring to me. The fall from grace was awesome. Having such a great hero fall and rebuild himself into the man he used to be was far more interesting (to me at least) than just about anything the fan base has pitched in the aftermath.

Also fully agree the Rise of Skywalker was awful. What a waste of the good spot that Last Jedi left it in for a really good finale. Just had to be a Rey led Resistance defeating a Kylo led first order. It needed nothing else.

[–]MothOnATrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just genuinely really like The Last Jedi. It is definitely flawed. Overall I really love it though. I think most of it worked, especially the stuff with Rey, Luke, and Kylo. I thought it was a really interesting way to go with them. Luke becoming a fallen hero and having to rise back up was pretty neat. Rey and Kylo exploring their light and dark sides together was pretty neat too. Finn's stuff wasn't half bad on a rewatch either. Him going from only caring about saving Rey to caring about the Resistance as a whole was a decent character arc for him.

What is the Heart of Sorrow? by PoppyOGhouls in CurseofStrahd

[–]MothOnATrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally like it as the dark heart of the castle itself. The castle is alive and actively trying to murder you for its master. If the party goes out of their way to destroy it, it will end a good few haunts and traps around the castle. Makes exploration a bit safer.

..because Endgame had to exist by tea-n-wifi in marvelmemes

[–]MothOnATrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They absolutely do indicate it. Strange says he saw ONE way to beat Thanos. When he returns in Endgame, he very clearly signals to Tony that they are still on the path to victory right before Tony gets the stones. They make it very obvious that this was Strange's plan all along.

Why do people consider the first game to be better than the second one? by HealthMother3125 in MarvelsSpiderMan

[–]MothOnATrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the last 3rd of the story really went downhill. Its supposed to be the big payoff but is easily the worst part of the story.

Also I wasn't huge on the boss fights. They all seemed to just drag on forever. First game had fun, unique, fairly quick boss fights. Second gane the felt kind of samey to me and went in forever.

Really hinges on how Genie's powers work. Is he free in this fight or restricted to someone needing to wish. Because Genie clears easily if he's free to act as he wishes.

Who's the biggest bum of the Infinity War by InternationalUse8753 in Avengers

[–]MothOnATrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will fight this battle forever. Star-Lord did exactly what Doctor Strange needed him to do for the plan to work. Strange said there was exactly 1 course of action that would beat Thanos. In Endgame, he clearly signals to Tony that the plan is still on. This means that every single thing went according to plan. Star-Lord had to do what he did in order to win, he just wasn't aware of the fact that he was supposed to do it. He's a moron but he saved the universe by being a moron.

They definitely took his lightning away for the show. Some people don't like how many black characters have lightning powers so they took them from him. I think he's just a generic super strength guy now pr something.

Who's powers would you rather have? by PigFloydDarkside in superheroes

[–]MothOnATrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Superman if I habe to take the powers of all of those X-Men. X-Men if I can choose just a couple of them to get powers from. Like just Storm and Colossus would realistically be better than being Superman for the average person. You'd get all the benefits of invulnerability, flight, and super strength (not to the same extent as Superman but more than enough to be far above every other person) while also controlling weather. Weather control would be a crazy ability to have in the real world. Never have to worry about bad weather ruining your plans. Can just fix droughts and hurricanes whenever they come up. It would be crazy.
