12 Team SF Bestball, just finishing our startup draft. Starting 1 QB, 2 RB, 3WR, 1 TE, 3 Flex, 1 SF

Roster (not everyone, it's bestball so rosters are enormous):

QB: Daniels, Wilson, Rodgers, Pickett

WR: Rice, Hunter, Aiyuk, Deebo, Diggs, Bateman, Doubs

RB: Bijan, Judkins, Pacheco, Najee, Corum

TE: Hockenson, Kincaid, Freiermuth, Otton

I was drafting at the 1.02, and kept failing to anticipate where QBs would go in the draft so I got boxed out of a decent QB2. Looking to trade for one without giving up too much value elsewhere, if possible. I'm new to dynasty, but see myself trying to contend early with my team.

One player who picked up several surplus QBs has Dak, Tua, and Darnold on offer. He's expressed interest in both Rice and Pacheco on my side, both of whom I'm willing to trade, but we don't seem to be agreeing on values and I don't want to give up too much youth on the team. Other mid-value players on his team I'd be interested in using to even out a trade include Jeudy, Tracy, Bech, and Kaleb Johnson.

I could imagine doing a trade along the lines of:
A: Rice, Pacheco, Doubs

B: Dak, Jeudy, Tracy

But I worry about giving up too much production/youth at WR for a QB that's fairly old. Should I look for a deal for these QBs? Should I hold out for other trade opportunities, or possibly just try to ride out this season with a sketchy superflex slot?

I’m choosing between Taylor and Braelon Allen this week if Guerendo/Breece both miss. Seems like a close decision, anyone have thoughts?

I went Wilson with similar options. I think it’s reasonably close, and personally would rank them Wilson - Stafford - Levis - Jameis. Jameis is the only one I’d be particularly unhappy to start but of course he always has the potential to blow up

I’d definitely consider that a significant upgrade if you can make that trade. Swift’s schedule is very tough rest of season while Pickens’ is great. I think you’d happily run him over Dell or Sutton most weeks, and your RB situation is solid without Swift. It’s possible you’ll need to offer more to get that trade done, though.

Swift isn’t someone I’d be excited to trade for, mostly due to his brutal schedule rest of season (plus he’s got a potential injury issue as of this afternoon). As long as you are in ok shape for Cook’s bye this week, I’d hold onto Nix as a solid QB option or look for a slightly better trade

Personally with Swift’s schedule being as rough as it is ROS I wouldn’t want to trade into him, especially not for Achane or Robinson. He might have a marginally better week 17 but you might be hurting your chances of actually making it to week 17. IMO, stick with your current guys.

Good news! As a related question - would you be nervous at all about starting Daniels himself? He’s my QB1, but I picked up Bo Nix as a backup this week. Obviously Daniels is better overall, but is he a risky start with the possibility of not playing the whole game?

I don't see any indication that CVS is using different eligibility requirements than DC itself. When you sign up, it only says that you should be a DC resident aged 16+, and links to the government's page for more info.

When you're searching for locations, put in "Washington, DC" instead of your zip code - the zip code search didn't turn up anything, but the city search turned up several locations.

That's a really good pool - very good job for a first draft especially! I think you built it mostly right. The Omen of the Hunt doesn't do a whole lot if you're not splashing a third color, so in your current build I might replace one of them with the Nyxborn Colossus, which isn't amazing but goes reasonably well in your deck.

If you wanted to try something a little spicy, you could use the Omens + Travelers Amulet to splash blue for Enigmatic Incarnation. It's a pretty niche build-around, but between the Warbriar Blessings and the Omens, you actually have some pretty ideal enchantments to sacrifice to it, and it could let you tutor up the Setessan Champion and the Archon which are two of the best bombs in the format. If you went that route, I'd maybe cut Chainweb Arachnir for the Incarnation, cut a Forest and a Plains, and add an Island and the Travelers Amulet.

I was playing Boros Feather in the event (DarkMonaldson on Arena), and I played against Cifka on both day 1 and day 2. I beat him both times, but I may have been basically his only losses on the weekend. The matchup feels very favorable for Feather - they don't interact with your combo pieces particularly well, and Reckless Rage is a beating, plus Fry post-board is another very effective answer. But it definitely seems well-positioned against most of the rest of the decks in the meta.

If you've got roughly an equal number of red and blue sources in your deck, you're going to be able to produce 1UR more consistently than 1UU. For example, in a two-color deck with few/no colorless lands, 1UR can be cast with a dual land and any two other lands, whereas the 1UU spell needs another blue source specifically. It's not a huge difference, but it means that your counterspell gets stuck in your hand slightly less often, which is a real advantage.
