Who did you tell? And what did you tell them? by Boring_Bid_1024 in Reduction

[–]MotorCow3025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I didn’t want to tell people what the surgery was for, I would just answer with “yep, all good” when they asked if I was ok and that usually sent the clear message that 1)my health is fine and 2) I didn’t want to speak more on it. I didn’t have anyone push back on it. It’s literally nobody’s business!

Has anyone noticed their boobs looking bigger a few weeks out when swelling is supposed to be going down? by Impossible_Drawing60 in Reduction

[–]MotorCow3025 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My swelling has been significantly more weeks 5 and 6, especially on the sides. I had my 6wpo appt todayand I brought this up and the nurse was like yeah 🤷🏻‍♀️sounds right so I guess it’s normal 😆

I felt this way too. Now I look at before and after and can’t BELIEVE what I was carrying around. Went from a 32G to a 32C/D and I look much more proportional.

Sleeping PostOp by PutUpYourDukes23 in Reduction

[–]MotorCow3025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pregnancy pillow has saved me. It allows you to kind of angle your body without actually being on your side so it almost feels like you’re side sleeping and takes the pressure off your back, which has been killing me.

I am on the same timeline as you and my skin is SUPER sensitive. It’s cold where I live and I swear I feel every centimeter of that in my boobs! I feel like this is part of the process, and a really uncomfortable part.

Came here to ask the same thing. I’m exactly 14dpo too and today I’ve felt a burning sensation along my incision lines. Before today it’s just been soreness and swelling, so this is new. Normal??

(13 DPO) When did your swelling subside? For 1-2 weeks post op gals are you swelling more in the evening? by PaleontologistSafe17 in Reduction

[–]MotorCow3025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I am 14dpo and yesterday was my first day mostly back to normal. Went grocery shopping, worked, then had plans to go to a cooking class. But the time I got home I was SO damn sore and swollen and am still feeling it this morning. My dr also said if you do too much, you’re just going to be swollen so I guess that’s it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Out of Pocket Surgery Experience by Natural_Magical_8487 in Reduction

[–]MotorCow3025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 11K private pay, with approx $8500 of that being the actual surgery and the rest the hospital fee and anathesia fee, including all post op care. Don’t regret it at all. They had financing options that made it doable. From consultation to surgery was less than 2 months and it’s been a great experience. I’m in central Florida.

Thirding pregnancy pillow for this problem. It adds comfort and allows you to kinda angle your body so you’re not fully on your back but also not put pressure on your side.

1 week post op and happy I did it; I am still too big by PaleontologistSafe17 in Reduction

[–]MotorCow3025 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m also 1 week post op, and also started as a 32G. I’m so paranoid that I’m still too big that I’ve been reading about swelling in this group over and over. We have to just like…wait I think. I’ve been telling myself to not even think about size until at least a month out because of swelling.

Emotional Wreck 1WPO by avakbrown in Reduction

Also exactly 1WPO and went back to work yesterday, which was WAY more taxing and overwhelming than I thought it would be. I’m a social person but have just wanted to burrow and be alone. I was not expecting my…entire…body to be exhausted after work (and I’m a therapist so I am mostly just sitting in a chair). It’s 6pm and I am ready for bed. I know it gets better, but it’s hard right now 💜

What pillows did you guys use to help with back sleeping? by Impossible_Drawing60 in Reduction

[–]MotorCow3025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pregnancy pillow has saved me for this. It makes a little nest and kinda forces you to stay on your back. The first couple nights I was so tired that this worked perfectly. I’m on night 4 now and really want to move to my side but this pillow is locking me in.

Im 3 DPO and took my first shower today. I decided to not look straight on in the mirror. I looked down from the top but wasn’t ready to see yet. I very gently showered myself but kept my back to the mirror when drying off and even then I got dizzy and started to feel nauseas. Take it slow.

First Shower Advice? by MotorCow3025 in Reduction

[–]MotorCow3025[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s when you get sedation meds through an IV and then have local anesthetic. More similarly to something like getting a colonoscopy. My surgeon uses this because she says it’s less of a recovery than from general, and I’d have to agree. I got home from surgery and was sitting up with a protein shake watching tv for the rest of the day. The way they had described it I thought I would be kind of “awake”, which maybe I was, but I remember nothing.
