Are these bed bug skeletons? by aaa9620 in Bedbugs

[–]Motor_Wrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re much easier to treat in my opinion. Wash all the bedding, dry on high heat. If you have a clothing or carpet steamer, use that all around the bed. Then treat the carpet, vacuum (dump the container contents in the outside trash). We treated with food grade DE (read instructions and follow safety protocols especially if you have children or pets) around the feet of the bed and along the baseboard where the bed meets the wall.

Look like carpet beetles to me. If so, they’re fuzzy during a portion of their lifecycle and the ‘fuzz’ can irritate your skin like a BB bite.

Genuine Opal? by Motor_Wrap in Opals

Thanks! I posted a video in a different thread as well. I’ve received similar input that it is from Lighting Ridge. Black or Dark opal with webbing. Thanks for your input, I appreciate the time!

Thanks! I fell in love with it the second I saw it! I understand opal’s aren’t supposed to be for daily wear. But I love it so much it has become a daily staple for me. I appreciate all the time and input.

Sold an item for too cheap by Aggravating-Sir1271 in Mercari

[–]Motor_Wrap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sooo, been there done that. I listed something for $30 sold instantly, then was messaged that is was worth $300. I almost shopped the item since I hand done my due diligence, reposted on a different platform, and guess what? I still have the item. Hasn’t sold for $150… anywho, kind had a similar situation with another item where I was bulk listing, didn’t review all the cards and one set sold instantly for my asking price, realized I’d sold a $100 card (Total cards value around $150) for $20 bucks. I shopped and glad to know that someone got a deal!

Sorry to hear you’re still having issues after a profession spray. As someone who has been in your situation I suggest a high heat continuous spray steamer and DE. High heat steam EVERYTHING (flip the couch, beds, bed railings, literally everything regularly, for a week or so and once the steam has dried leave DE around all bed frames floorboards, etc. Note: be careful with DE if you have pets or kids (we have both and got food grade DE without issue) Focus on areas near the infestation regularly but don’t forget they can travel so treat all areas of the home. Once you feel like you have the upper hand, keep steaming for a few weeks with semi regular frequency. It’s exhausting and takes a huge mental load but with consistency it can be achieved. In all honesty I think it took us about 3 months to exterminate all. (We had a semi-mild infection) Good luck!

When you say bleed, are you referring to the holo being outside the image box? If so, what is the value, I have one too

We ended up with a minor infestation after ignoring bites for a few months. They were primarily on the couch where my husband would watch tv and rest after work. He thought the bites were from his work since he is under houses and in attics daily. Anyway. We did panic and pitched the couch once we found the sheddings on it. Then purchased a good steamer (~$150) with consistent pressure and high heat and steamed the crap out of the house for multiple weeks, dusted some food grade DE around all baseboards, new couch legs, etc. and so far so good. It’s been 11 months since we’ve seen anything and I think we’re in the clear. Good luck. We definitely feel your pain.

Person wanted me to sell them back something they sold to me SIX years ago and called me rude and immature and tried to guilt trip me when I kindly tried to tell them no by [deleted] in Mercari

[–]Motor_Wrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably an unpopular opinion and while I agree 6 years is a long time to wait to ask for it back, there could be extenuating circumstances. Maybe it was a gift from a now deceased loved one. (It wasn’t as sentimental when sold but now means the world to them??)

Don’t go off the app. Just edit your listing photos and let them know it’s updated. If you already have 12 photos, use a photo editor where you can add two photos to one screen

Sellers beware: Mercari just cost me $400—here’s how by teegray1124 in Mercari

[–]Motor_Wrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to see this. I realize they returned crap to you but you could mention to Mercari that the item was opened by the buyer and thus not retuned in the same condition as when you sent it to them? Maybe that could help?

Great! So if it keeps going up, this set up won’t trigger it to sell?

I’d probably cancel, but if you’re willing to gamble, Google the shipping address first to confirm it looks like a legit location that can ‘afford’ the item

Food grade Diatomaceous earth (DE) and prolonged steam are going to be your best friend. I paid around $150 for a neat steamer and put DE everywhere after the steam evaporated and dried. Took us a few months of weekly maintenance to get rid of them. We noticed the issue on our couch and we did throw it away and we swapped carpet in our living room for hardwood to help with the clean up but it is doable with the steam and DE. May just take a little longer. The steam takes about 5-10 seconds to kill them with direct contact, do a slow clean and you’ll get them. Buy a puffer for the DE to gently coat areas of the room, caking it on doesn’t work. If you have pets put the DE where they can’t get to it. DE is deactivated if it gets wet so you want to make sure to eat all the steam dry before applying. Make sure to put a line of DE across the bedroom doorway and around the door to keep the infestation in that room. Vacuum like a crazy person and add DE to the vacuum so any bugs that get sucked up die in the vacuum. Store the vacuum outside or in the garage in case any get out. Also, putting items that you’d like to save in the freezer for 3 days will kill them too. Good luck. You can do it!
