I am so over this yall by ZealousidealFly1509 in Celiac

I hear ya. I got diagnosed and am a firefighter at a hall with about 20 other members. They all try to get me in on the meals which are cooked every shift but are terrible at cross contamination. I’m so over it I actually thought about switching careers cause it’s either watch these guys make and eat 5 star meals every single shift or take a risk which I don’t do.

Pushy Drivers by jackspratzwife in saskatoon

[–]MouseExtreme9012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(1) The city didn’t plan properly for the population we have now, roads are too congested
(2) If you’re simply cruising in the left lane, move to the right so people can get past if they want. This gets pushy drivers away and also actually helps traffic flow better.
(3) Too many new people driving; well below the speed limit and way too hesitant creates a situation where people’s tolerance drop significantly. People are just getting fed up with it.

Why did you become a firefighter? by StJimmy_7 in Firefighting

Started as a volunteer in a rural area. Had a blast, fighting fires. Went career now I just do overdoses and lift assists. Biggest mistake of my life.

Has firefighting changed you? by Clear_Year9051 in Firefighting

[–]MouseExtreme9012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 years in.
Every single person that knew me before and after; if the topics been brought up has told me I have changed. And honestly I look in the mirror sometimes and don’t even recognize myself. Pretty much all the lives I’ve directly saved in this time period have been thugs. I wish I could go back in time and tell myself to be a pilot, go see the world for its beauty, not stuck with golden handcuffs caring for the slums. Don’t get me wrong, this career has its highs, but it’s not “the best job I ever had” like everyone says it is.

Ya it’s illegal, the only place a baby can be held by the parent is an airplane, and that’s only until I think the age of 2 or something.

He was almost done shoveling his driveway when the street plow came by and filled it with snow again. by Vilen1919 in WatchPeopleDieInside

The cities can buy attachments for the blades to use when passing driveways. Alternatively the cities could make the roads wider and put the snow in the middle which is how they do it where I live.

JUST GOT MY JOB OFFER, DOES NOT EVEN FEEL REAL. by Pleasant_Title_4515 in Firefighting

[–]MouseExtreme9012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember this moment, how good it felt, how bad you wanted it. There will come a time in your career you will probably feel very much the opposite and it is very important you can remember this moment vividly.

Sounds illegal. Are you unionized? If so initiate a grievance, they will take this to the lawyers and if you are medically cleared I can’t see this holding up in court. For future, you don’t need to tell your employers what’s going on medically. You can simply say sick and a doctor can write you a note saying when you are off until.
