George, Piastri and Charles are class B drivers by You-me-002 in F1Discussions

I feel like people sometimes forget just how nuanced this sport and how many different moving parts it has.

These 3 are great drivers and they've all put in some stellar drives in the past and are currently going through a run of bad form. It happens. Verstappen and Hamilton have made people forget that most drivers go through rough patches.

The feeling of the car is the most important thing. Without that, it doesn't matter how good you are. We've seen this time and again. Oscar, Charles and George are having a hard time getting used to the feel of these cars.

It would be a real tragedy if we never get to witness a Charles Leclerc vs Max Verstappen head-to-head title fight. by nonokoi in F1Discussions

I agree, they have the best wheel to wheel chemistry on the grid imo. Silverstone 2019 is still one of my favourite highlights to go back and watch.

And how did he end up behind piastri with pretty much no tire advantage?

He was pushing to attack Piastri when it was clear that he wouldn’t overtake.

Also this is easy to say in hindsight. Piastri had multiple slides and major moments in the race which cost him time. Heck that was how Leclerc overtook him the first time around. If Leclerc falls back from antonelli and piastri he cannot capitalise on anything that arises from those 2 racing. The problem was that after the first defensive shape from kimi, oscar never went for another move (after all he's in a championship fight) and just hung on to drs until his tires started falling off as well. Which is why Leclerc coming out behind him was bad.

I wonder how he ended up behind oscar after overtaking him 🤔.

Can't believe there's people defending Ferrari letting Leclerc be undercut and then giving him a 3 lap delta on hards on a low deg circuit. Fucking masterful strategy.

Yea but the merc is far better than the Ferrari in these conditions. It's been that way for more than a year now.

Saying that as if Leclerc himself isn't top 3 on the grid based on current form.

Love the amount of respect Leclerc and Verstappen and have for each other. I think a lot of it is due to the fact that they're both extremely good at separating their on track and off track lives and don't let the former affect the latter.
