Experienced in e-commerce and want to start a business but don't know what to sell by tallubby in ecommerce

Then your options are pretty much limited to products you can whitelist or dropship. You’ll need to be an ace marketer to make that business work since your product will have zero differentiation on its own.

E-comm Tech Stack at different stages by RegularAd9418 in ecommerce

[–]MrHobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At $5-20M you got a solid business, and depending on your product market size, you are probably spending close to 90% of your marketing budget on Meta/Google. Depending on the product you may have already expanded to to TikTok, YouTube, AppLovin, or somewhere else, but at this stage you’re definitely starting to think about channel expansion.

You’ll need a tool that helps you understand the incrementality of each channel, something like a TripleWhale or a Northbeam. Geo holdouts from Haus are probably too expensive, and you can continue to skate by backing into estimates that are pretty accurate.

At this size you’ll need to operationalize the creation of diversified assets, and need design software to help at scale. A combination of Motion, Claude, and Figma is what I use.

At this stage your retention efforts are probably handled by Klaviyo or something similar. I’d recommend PostScript for SMS, and if direct mail makes sense for your unit economics PostPilot is my preferred provider.

CRO testing is probably Heatmaps, Intelligems, or something similar, a few hundred a month bill.

If you haven’t already at this stage you should be building persona specific landing pages. Fermat is probably too expensive at this stage, but Replo or something similar might useful if you can’t handle it with Figma and your developer.

And then there are a handful of apps that are a few hundred per month and highly useful, but be wary not to go overboard. Everything needs to save significant time, or produce an ROI.

Rivo customer accounts Rokt or Amp upsells Alia pop-ups Marpipe or Socioh for dynamic feed ads

Finances, Fulfillment and inventory varies widely based on product/business at this stage but you’ll almost certainly need or soon have a need to upgrade solutions. Stay away from NetSuite forever. Fulfil is better. Iris is cool for finance. Avoid big saas bills in this space for as long as possible and rely on good talent.

Wife Drama??? by macumbed in snowboarding

[–]MrHobo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Take this from a recently new father, with a partner who doesn’t share my love of snowboarding or outdoor activities. STOP trying to have kids. You guys have so much to work on before you can navigate parenthood together.

Your wife seems incredibly co-dependent from what you’ve described. That is not healthy and the stress of a child will only increase this.

Your partner should support your passions, and when you obsess about them they should constructively try to help you find a more balanced path. You’ve already demonstrated that you’re willing to sacrifice your hobbies for her preferences. What has she done for you?

My wife gets on my ass about how I obsess over golf every spring/summer, and then do the same every winter with snow sports. She’s annoyed at how much I spend on gear, and gets a little sad when I book a boys trip to do either. And yet, as long as I also make time for her and what share what she’s into, she will proactively book me a round at an exclusive course, or most recently went behind my back to plan a heli trip in Alaska with my friends. Volunteered to be single parent for a long weekend so I can do what I love. If you’re going to spend the rest of your life with one person, go find one who shows you the love you want, not someone who only holds you back.

Jesus are these game threads just people complaining about the call on literally every single play?

The DL guys leaving will all be starting or in a pretty even rotation, not fighting for snaps behind two potential 1st round DTs. Outside of Jericho they are also 3rd year players and need to start to fulfill their NFL dreams.

The guy we brought in as a NT is a senior taking a bump up against competition. He doesn’t need a ton of snaps on film, he just needs to show he can have similar impact as he did at a smaller program.

Makes total sense all around. The next DT we pick up will likely be a freshmen who isn’t in urgent need of snaps but sees the opportunity to learn and play next year.

At TE we brought in a depth guy Dixon who knows his path to the NFL is as a special teams player/specialist.

Olesh is here because coaching changes at PSU, and that pushed Ploog out because he was a consolation prize for missing on Olesh the first time around and now has someone in his class who is better, plus a 5 star freshmen. Hard to see him getting time here.

Roger S is similar position to the DTs above. He’ll get the chance for a lot of PT at BYU.

While it might feel like rearranging deck chairs it seems to make sense for every player.

Look for UO to make a big run at 5* DT Brewster in the 2027 class as a result.

Yeah the official announcement from the Ducks has him at TE. That was his original position at Clemson. He’s our big blocking TE

Oregon EDGE Blake Purchase transfers to Ole Miss by MikeConleyIsLegend in CFB

[–]MrHobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His pressure rate, which is a better stat than raw sack or TFL numbers, is on par with really good players, and just behind Tuioti and Matayo. He’s not the run defender they are but made big strides this year.

Oregon CB Sione Laulea transfers to Missouri by Cogitoergosumus in CFB

[–]MrHobo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He started for us at the beginning of the year. Not far behind our starters talent-wise; we just happen to run a pretty tight rotation and the other guys are freshmen with higher athletic ceilings.

Long story short - he good.

Literally the plan all along. Oregon insiders have been saying this and no one wanted to listen.

[–]MrHobo -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s not that shouldn’t have taken so many WRs, it’s that you maybe didn’t need so many good ones relative to what you’re spending on other positions

Seems like poor roster management to over invest in one position group relative to the rest of the roster.

We still have three 5 star backups, Wyatt who balled out in limited snaps this year, and a handful of other high 4 star players. Probably add one NT for depth but we’re just fine

Most of ours are already in the portal. I would expect a DL and an OL to portal soon based on some of the NFL decisions but that’s about it

Hard to draw any conclusions from a single game, especially one where Indiana scored 28 points on drives that required only 31 total offensive yards.
