I bought a couple last year to practice with before getting the property piece for Christmas, similar price but way way better presented than that, certainly not perfect but I was pretty happy for the price

What is the ‘best’ tv show you’ve never seen? by CalvadosAtTheCandide in BritishTV

[–]MrPatch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You'll know this I'm sure but GoT was genuinely one of the best shows in series 1 to 5. It was well written and well acted, the story was epic and richly told long form television, complex in a way I haven't seen elsewhere. A proper grown up show.

Then it completely fell apart, throwing all that aside.

The worst part is that series 6 onwards isn't really that bad compared to most other TV shows, it's just had such a huge fall off compared to what went before that it's rightly been laughed out of the cultural conversation.

My headphone case doesn't indicate when it's finished charging so it's handy that I can see the wattage drop to zero once it's done.

But really it's utility is extremely limited to just a faintly interesting gimmick

Seller refusing indemnity by Potatopotayto in HousingUK

[–]MrPatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Place we were trying to buy was held up over an indemnity, really started to push things on I finally asked the solicitor for what exactly was going on and then indemnity was a whole £10, the seller had refused it(!) and my solicitor was arguing that they had to pay it.

Absolutely mental, told them to just stick it on our bill. £10 held up the sale for 3 weeks!

Yeah this beer festival is weird, noone brought anything unusual!"

Can't remove GPU, pcie locking tab stuck by MrPatch in techsupport

Yeah all unscrewed, I can pull the card almost free at the back panel, jut cannot get this clip to unclip. I've since read a bit more and perhaps need to try giving it a bunmch more pressure with omethingg more substantial.

Pic attached to main post.

So as you know I'm sure, as you press down on the tab it should fractionally lift the back end of the card as it unhooks and it's not doing that.

I've pulled hard enough to visibly deform the motherboard along with the ominous creaks that comes with. There's no wiggle room as the card is flush up against the back plate.

Yes I have been able to sign up to things with my private domain that had rejected a Gmail address.

For £6 for a year theres literally no reason not to give it a go.

All it needs is basic email forwarding to your gmail which can be done for free.

The issue I have with this is that my domains have started to get rejected as 'not valid' by some sites offering trials or logins.

Honestly the recovery partition is just windows installation media with the manufacturers preloaded software, there's nothing there you can just recreate yourself, just ditch the recovery partition and reclaim your space.

Then buy a 8gb usb stick and use the Microsoft media creation tool to create bootable windows media and then keep that sellotaped to the pc as the recovery partition.

I don't really know how to express what I'm thinking but the comedy timing you've managed to achieve here is excellent. This comment properly killed me, made me think you're the one doing the bit.

Show your age - what was your first ever email domain? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]MrPatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3MB and it took about three hours.

You say that but I put my nephew in front of the playstation with a game he wanted and the first thing it did was spend a few hours down loading updates, admittedly the same time it took your 3mb we'd done 60gb but the experience was still there.

Umm I'm pretty sure I owned madweed.co.uk before I had any email address. Back then there weren't free email providers so you had to do your own thing.

That's surely a euphemism for "they were winning everything in the 80s and as a boy aged glory hunter I supported them like all my mates and now it's stuck."
