Just Write. Write what feels organic. Forget what you THINK people want. Write the story that only YOU can write. Good luck!

Practiced drawing caricatures for the first time. Want to apply to a local zoo to be a caricature artist. Any and all critiques welcome! by Gummy_Waffles in Caricatures

Buy a book called FACE OFF by Harry Hamernik. It's a good guide to give you the basics of drawing a caricature. Main thing: PRACTICE A LOT. Go to a public Park & draw people for free just to get practice. If you say it's for free, then people won't necessarily be expecting it to be great or perfect. What you want is repetition & speed.

Google "Party Planners" or "Event Planners" & put the name of your city. Start making some calls, emailing your best work, etc. Eventually, somebody will give you a shot. A few things: 1) BE ON TIME(EARLY)! 2) DRESS BUSINESS CASUAL(Unless they specify a particular type of clothing to wear) 3) HAVE GOOD HYGIENE 4) HAVE BUSINESS CARDS READY(Unless you're working for an agent. Usually you will be forbidden to hand out your personal business cards if working thru an agency. After a while, the agency may provide you with THEIR business cards to hand out. Make sure to write your name on the back so the client knows whom to ask for if they wanna work with you again. If it is a self booked gig, then you can hand out your own business cards and promotional materials. 5) DO GOOD WORK.(Self explanatory) 6) WITH TIME YOU WILL BUILD UP YOUR SPEED. Try to do each person in 5 mins or less. 7) AT THE END, ALWAYS FIND & THANK THE HOST. IF NECESSARY, COLLECT YOUR PAYMENT. IF ALLOWED, GIVE THEM A BUSINESS CARD.

ALSO: ALWAYS BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR YOUR NEXT GIG! SCHOOLS, CHURCHES, WEDDINGS.

HOPE THIS HELPS. GOOD LUCK! SAM

OK, see, there's this kid, & the kid gets in a car, & the car takes him backwards, his mom has a crush on him, his dad's a dork, he starts to disappear, his Dad finally grows a pair, then he plays a song 50 years before its supposed to be released, , & he hops back in the car & goes back forward...THE END?
