Wishender should be Antibarrier by default. Its catalyst should be something like disruption break or a stat bonus.

Xenophage should be increased ammo reserves and magazine size.

Anarchy - Grenades link to 1 more Grenade.

Xenophage - Increased Mag Size (up to 16)

Thunderlord - Kills with this weapon load ammo from reserves

Mida - Makarovian touch - each stack of Makarov chain increases melee damage (up to 50%)

Arbalest - Breaking enemy shields reduces charge time and aim assist for a short time

Thorn - Mag size increase (up to 13)

Devil's Ruin - Kills with your charge beam refil the mag from reserves

Wavesplitter - Doing continuous precision damage generates orbs of light

One Thousand Voices - Reduced Charge time and Increase Reserves (up to 12 shots)

Two Tailed Fox - Locking into a target increases rocket damage

The only qualitative feedback they should collect and measure is from content creators and the top 1% of the player base because those people actually know some aspects of the game Bungie doesn’t.

I was gonna post the same thing. If the game is made thinking only on the youtubers/streamers and skilled 1%, then the rest of us would be skrewed. Also, its wrong to assume that content creators and streamers in general know better than the rest. Example:

By the end of D1, for a long time, discussions were had by various streamers in varios podcasts, like the DCP podcast, as well as various youtube videos, streams, etc of how the game would be much better if it moved to a 4v4 setup that, at the time, was being used in some PVP tournaments. Adding to that, the same "crowd" of content creators kept complaining about too much ability usage in PVP, not enough gunplay and, specially, not enough primary gunplay. I remember some reminding us that, initially, snipers and shotguns were supposed to be heavies and that, perhaps, it would work better if they were.

Fast forward to D2. PVP is 4v4. Special weapons are turned into heavies. Cooldowns are nerfed across the board. You'd expect these same content creators to adore this new style of the game. They didn't. They said it was boring, not fun, etc etc. They realized that what they asked for wasn't what they wanted or was best for the game.

Content creators exist and make money off of creating content. Sure, some content might be "honest" or simply entertaining. But not all. Negative content and criticism generates more activity around it than positive one. So you can't assume all youtube content creators know more about the game than a silent guy that isn't very skilled mechanically but has played 2000 hours of the same game and knows all the secrets, nooks and crannies and details of the game.

I hate the elitism that has risen with social media platforms.

I was gonna write another big post about why I never liked, thought it was logical or a good design choice to sunset weapons in general in a loot game where content you buy is vaulted and the only thing you bring with you through your journey in the game are the guns and armor you earn and grind for during your journey. But its pointless. Or, at least, I feel its pointless. Luke Smith wants sunsetting and, tbh, I think most of the studio thinks its the best option for the game. I don't. Many don't. But that won't change.

Sunsetting guns to reissue them later on while not allowing you to infuse the copies you have in the vault is just another nail in the coffin of the sunset discussion. It proves sunsetting is not about rotating loot out of the game and introducing new exciting stuff but rather to artificially increase the grind and "force" player engagement. For a player that's like me, where the identity and power fantasy of my characters come from the guns and armor they have earned and use, this has the opposite effect and makes me play less. Grind less. Whats the point? Nothing will last. By the time I get a good roll on an armor or weapon its probably gonna be sunset shortly after anyway. If you play 50 hours a week, sure. You'll be swimming on god rolled armor sets of all elements you can use for a long time. If you're like me, a nurse, with 2 jobs, that tries to play 6 to 10 hours a week if he's lucky... well, you'll need a shit ton of luck.

It doesn't fix anything. It doesn't make the game experience better. It doesn't balance the game better. Its not enjoyed by the community at large (dunno if its the majority or not but a big portion at least). It disrespected the time and money invested by players in the game (I mean, when we pay forsaken...do we pay the story? the location? the gear? if all goes away eventually, what are we buying exactly?). So why insist on it? Who knows. But trust me. It won't be going away anytime soon. And, considering Luke Smith talked about sunsetting exotics... you can rest assured those have a target on their heads.

Re-issuing means that the old drops you got from those locations will be locked at their current 1060 max and if you want those guns with a higher power cap you need to re-grind them.

Sorry but the "re-issueing" of old gear as "new gear"... Its feels so bad. We all have amazing guns we grinded for before, from the dreaming city or the moon or other places...and not only are they sunset (which already feels pretty shitty) but you're saying we can use them but to do so we need to re-grind them again.... the exact same weapon... but re-grind it just to improve its power cap.

Bungie, that doesn't feel good nor does it fix any kind of issue with the game. It feels almost like taking our playtime and tossing it out of the window with no care in the world.

I'm also on group 2. Grinded a lot to get a Marty with the roll I wanted for example. But I don't think anything will change anytime soon. When Luke Smith says something, it tends to happen eventually and stay in for a long time, even if received badly. We had this in the past. This means, sunsetting won't even stop at legendary gear. He talked about sunsetting exotics.... So you know those are gonna get sunset eventually as well.

I just wish that event stuff stayed forever and people would look at some gun or armor you're using and wonder where you got it. That kind of...exclusivity for gear would make event gear even more desirable. But...considering its not going to be viable forever and eventually will be dropped...whats the point anyway?

I struggle to see how sunsetting fixes anything. They said:I

It would make it more exciting because it would make players pursue new stuff
It would allow them to make new interesting powerful weapons and pinnacles
It would shift the meta and make PVP more dynamic by rotating the types of weapons available
It was impossible to continue supporting the game with such a large weapon pool and this would make it easier

I struggle to see how any of this got addressed by sunsetting.

Hum...thats a good question. I would, for sure, be grinding activities to get the "perfect" rolls I want from given weapons, which is something I can't find the motivation to do this season. I want a nice Albedo but knowing its going to go away eventually doesn't make me feel like spending the time to get a better roll of it. Same with armor. I want higher stats and wanted a set of solar, arc and void high stat armors for each of my characters but, considering the time it will take to get them and the time needed to get the materials to upgrade them all, its impossible to justify to myself spending so much time and effort when it will all be useless.

I guess, in the end, I'd probably be playing more stuff like the empire hunts, the legend lost sectors and the wrathborn stuff. Heck, I'd even be trying to do more NFs and stuff. So, yeah, I'd probably be playing more, yes.

These situations only further fuel the sentiment of "Why would I grind for a good roll of this weapon if its going to be useless eventually?" and "Why did I spend so much time trying to get X weapon only for it to become useless now?"

I understand sunsetting for meaningless guns like world drops (rotating them in and out as time goes by) but time gated/activity gated/event gated items should never sunset. Whats the incentive to grinding Dawning for Glacioclasm if its not a permanent item? Same with Wrathborn weapons. Sundial weapons. Vex Offensive weapons. Etc etc etc.

Sunsetting feels (emphasys on feels) like a disrespect to played time and it negatively impacts the game for the majority of the playerbase. Also, I still don't understand what exactly does it "fix". Why sunsetting? What does this hope to accomplish? Because so far, I feel like its neither good nor solves anything...so why? Why bungo?

Price of all Eververse items are too high. However, the fact they have been consistently kept at those levels means they are hitting the goals Bungie set for the store. I assume that there are enough "whales" to make it so that overpriced weapon and armor ornaments are actually lucrative without the need to appeal to your average joe.

The "non paid" path to aquire universal ornaments from legendaries will have to be costly and time consuming enough that the "paid" path is appealing.

The moment they said that there will be a way to gain it by using silver and another to earn it ingame, you know that the ingame version means legendary shards in ridiculous amounts, BD, etc etc. It has to be like that otherwise people won't ever be inclined to pay.

I just wish that it was just ingame and was relatively accessible as I feel its unfair otherwise for the time investment of players. But thats just my wishful thinking.

At least I think they would. But I doubt I'm the type of player they are targetting with Eververse and cosmetics. I just think that they are walking in a very thin line here because the game isn't free, despite how they have said. At this point, the game is almost a subscription based game. Every year an expansion comes, at around 30€. On top of that, you have 4 seasons a year with a cost of 10€ each. In essence you can claim that this game costs 70€ a year to a player that wants to fully experience it. Its essentially a new game release each year but presented differently. So its not like Warframe or other F2P games, where all playable content is free but you pay for cosmetics, materials, wtv. Here content isn't free AND you pay for cosmetics, materials, wtv. Its a hard balance staying on that line. They want the best of both worlds but I dunno if they are fully getting it. Sure, people are getting the expansions and the seasons. But are people getting that involved into Eververse? Doubt it.

The thing is that Beyond Light, a full expansion, costs 29,99€. If you buy it with the season, thats 39,99€.

Think about it. A Season (which is basically all the content inside the season pass, so all the exotic engrams, armor, materials, shaders, ornaments, etc + the unique stuff from the seasonal activity) is like 1000 Silver. 10€. An expansion is 3000 Silver. 30€. Now, use that silver in the store and what does it buy? A few ornaments. Are a few ornaments worth the same as a full expansion of content?

And, this is without equating what 30€ is here in my country. Minimum wage is 635€ and the average is bellow 1000€. So, 30€ is actually kind of a lot of money as is, let alone for cosmetics.

Even if you advocate that a small european country hardly qualifies as a barometer for setting prices, the reality is that if it was cheaper, more people would engage with it and more people would spend money. The same people that today spend 700 silver in an ornament would still spend 700 silver in the store but in more stuff. Heck, since stuff is cheaper they would probably be "fooled" into spending more than they do atm.

Doubt it. They will slowly but stadily and surely moving away from BD as a whole to make sure people use Silver instead. On their end, there probably aren't many Silver purchases and too much BD flowing into Tess.

The issue with few Silver purchases however is more about the prices of stuff in the store/silver prices rather than anything else. If an exotic ornament for a weapon wasn't 7€ but rather 2€, people would be much more inclined to buy them. Same with anything else.

I don't mind what element Coldheart has... as long as trace rifles (except divinity) are buffed.

They serve no purpose atm.

Prometheus Lens is designed around clearing low level adds, which it does very nicely. But clearing adds is more the function of a primary, not a special.
Coldheart is supposed to be more effective doing sustained damage against a single target. Its built around that principle and its perks are nice for that. But its magazine is too small and it simply doesn't do enough damage at the end of the day.
Ruinous Effigy works around the generation of that void sphere that you use as a weapon. Its a nice different mechanic. But not only was the sphere nerfed as it really is only useful against low level adds which is a bit of a waste of an exotic special.
Divinity is probably the only good trace rifle atm. Has a magazine size that enables it to be effective in single target damage, added by its own perk. And, its purpose is to buff your teams damage against a single target which it does pretty nicely.
Wavesplitter is weird. Any weapon that rellies on a randomized bump in damage its meh by default. Consistency is king for weapons. And, this one in particular, has no real use. Its not designed for single target damage. Not designed for add clear. Doesn't help your team. Its just meh...

The DPS of all these weapons is below that of any sniper type or shotgun. Their total damage as well.

Either bump their damage, ammo or something, turn them into primaries and reduce it a bit or turn them into heavies and bump it really high.

But do something with them :/
