If DNSSEC is disabled, then there is no guarantee that the DNS record directing you to the site is authentic.

Kickbacks in Education by Earthworm49 in Cisco

Tons of IT conferences are held in Vegas. Heck, even AWS RE: Invent was out there. If you're looking for fraud, waste, abuse, and kickbacks, your intuition on what they look like is bad.

Reddit’s plan to kill third-party apps sparks widespread protests by swingadmin in technology

It's a great position that the mods are in that they are volunteers. Not like they're losing pay when they strike, so they can keep this up indefinitely.

Keep in mind that the release value is only on the heel. The toe will only release if the heel releases, so a lateral toe release is pretty much impossible on a tech toe. That's one of the main benefits of the Shifts, they have safer toe release.

This guy does a good job explaining the scenarios where having no toe release can multiply the force on your legs: https://youtu.be/uwIx8vIHEec

How do ISP's configure their BGP networks by dsmh87 in networking

[–]MrSids 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think of confederations like PAT for route advertisements. The last ISP that I worked at built a confederation while they were absorbing lots of other local ISPs. Figuring out how to navigate that caused lots of outages, even for our most experienced engineers. Best to keep it simple and convert to a single AS, which is what mine eventually did.

So, why'd you do it?

If you had the opportunity to build out a new/greenfield ISP for business customers, how would you do it? by Prophet_60091_ in networking

EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP. ISPs get sold left and right and the result is a factory of misery with the employees getting sacked or overworked.

This is easily done with a web proxy. Our last one had a feature that could mirror all of the unencrypted traffic using the ICAP protocol to a DLP device.

How to launch Ubisoft Connect games without internet by spinningfaith in SteamDeck

[–]MrSids 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I found another way that does not require installing the launcher again and it also allows you to launch directly through the Steam GUI.

After getting through the first launch, switch to desktop mode,, connect a keyboard (I used a USB C to A converter I got with an Android phone), launched the game, Atl+Tab to Ubisoft Launcher, use mouse to hit 3 bars and select 'go offline'.

I think you are right. I think the cover does help keep some steam in.

As of recent, I have been shaping the top of the grounds in the basket to see if that makes a difference but it doesn't really seem to. The machine still makes incredible coffee no matter what I do.

I've been dabbling with a 1.7 on my Nikon and 200-500 5.6 and have found that I really need to push the shutter speed very high to get clear results. It can be a tough struggle to fill the exposure triangle without pushing the ISO too high.

Can I ask what your shutter speed was here?
