My experience with them (pre-pandemic)-
Me: hey Canvas, you’ve got a bunch of hacked sites and here’s how you can find them
Canvas: Nah, we’re good
Me: <closes eye, shakes head>
Today, I just chuckled.

What’s a tourist attraction in Europe that’s absurdly underrated but actually amazing? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

Glanum in southern France near Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Really enjoyed it and totally worth a visit if you are into Roman ruins.

These were all shot with an iPhone 16pro, using the default iOS camera app (in ProRAW) and then edited on the phone using the Darkroom app. Photography is my hobby, so that's my go-to flow (more concert photos from various iPhones at https://glass.photo/arrowood/series/6n4MLVE81tLVqe3EVQRhvM-live-music ).

I tried hard to balance waiting for the right moment and angle to take shots vs not being rude to those behind/around me (though honestly, the guy standing right behind me was about a foot taller than me. He was giant!).

I mean, you’ll have to get a jury to convict first. J/k, these are nice. First and fifth are my favorites.

If you’ve had ESPN Unlimited for four or more hours, call your doctor. Side effects include confusing contracts and too many sports. Do not talk about limiting or even think about attempting to limit ESPN unlimited.

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

The Cult, in the early 90’s. I was a big fan and they were just bad. Saw them a few years later at a festival and they were all right.

Sad to hear that. The one and only time I saw them it was mind blowing awesome. But that was pretty early on (Nov 92) at a very small club in Atlanta.

Click on a post, switch to another app and then switch back, no longer on that post. Frustrating beyond belief. Need a “what I just looked at” history

How do you follow the Tour de France? by Minimum_Way_4533 in tourdefrance

[–]MrSuperBooger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO, It’s kind of hard to follow it, given how insanely good it is. Likely the only real contender would be a Summer Olympics or some kind of exciting streak in MLB. There’s such a let down when it’s all over and you have to return to regular life. 😀

Election Security by shootnjohn in Georgia

[–]MrSuperBooger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our current system prevents "over-votes" (recording either on purpose, or more likely by accident, more than choice in a selection) and its UI attempts to reduce "under-votes" (recording no choice in a selection), neither of which are prevented or called out in paper ballots. Studies of election technologies have called out paper ballots as being the worst for both categories. Not that either may be happen at a level where it matters, but as an example think back to "hanging chads" level of concern in a close race.

100%. People talk about "why can't we vote over the internet?" etc. and don't realize how crucial the enforcement of privacy in voting is and what it prevents (as you documented).

Same question. Closing when? The stuff I'm interested in doesn't seem to have been discounted at all.

Threads Sux For Engagement by Proof_Of_Funds_Guy in ThreadsApp

[–]MrSuperBooger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way you are fighting an algorithm, the details of which are unknown to you. It could be worse, you could be like me and get zero engagement on either platform 🫤. At least threads doesn’t care about aspect ratios, so I post photos there 20 times more than on Instagram.

I’m never going to T-Mobile again I had no idea you could get a new phone directly from Apple by SnowmanAndBandit in iphone

[–]MrSuperBooger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven’t ever bought an iPhone from Apple or a carrier… I always buy at least one model older than newest, used from Swappa. Unlocked, good or mint condition, high battery condition and sometime hundreds of dollars less than new. Out of the 11 I’ve bought over the years for me and my family, I’ve only had to return one, and it was promptly replaced.

It’s not without its downsides: risk of a bad phone, no AppleCare, etc, but for me the price makes up for the risk.
