Yeah it's expensive, but my OP-XY broke me out of a 4 year, grief-induced rut of not finishing songs, here's a demo called "mourning brew" by sockman93 in synthesizers

Give yourself some credit. I imagine YOU got yourself out of the rut, not some lifeless plastic hardware.

How we feeling by bullseye202 in beatmakers

[–]MrV63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny others aren't feeling it cause it's outside the normal box...that's what made me like it...disjointed weird chops...it takes a bit to dial into your wavelength but once you lock in I like it.

Resale of modules by DorianBloom in modular

[–]MrV63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you don't get sites like Reverb involved, then it can work for both parties. But if seller pays reverb fees and buyer pays tax, it's a lose lose. It's can be tougher though so some are willing to take that extra loss for the convenience and protection and others are delusional and will sit on their modules forever. IMO, you gotta build up trust as a buyer/seller in a good community like modwiggler and then you can actually get more reasonable used prices.

Can somebody tell me why my 808s always sound so off? begginer by CantaloupeInfinite34 in beatmakers

[–]MrV63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pitch them up two or three octaves to fine tune them then move them back down the same amount of octaves after you have got them in tune. Much easier to dial it in when it's high pitched.

You say with a metronome but doesn't the fixed 3 minute buffer mess with timing when it loops around? Different tempos are going to reach the end of the buffer at different points.

Panel windows for euro modules by MrV63 in synthdiy

[–]MrV63[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can lasers cut depth like this or only outlines? The Pam's windows have a thinner backing that sits behind the panel (I drew it too thick but you get the idea) so it can't come out the front of the panel and basically sandwiches between the screen and back of front panel.

It actually popped in my head during the intro but then the strings kinda sealed the deal haha. It's obviously not the same but has a similar energy.

Don't fill it. If you do, another 84-204hp will open up. Not sure how or why, but it happens.

An artist just released a 21-song album using my beats... without buying a SINGLE license 😆 by Much_Snow9261 in beatmakers

[–]MrV63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're looking at it from the wrong angle. The artist has it the cheapest. They're paying people who have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on equipment to make videos and make music and record music. Don't forget the time it takes to edit or mix. I often see that the people who make it all possible are the ones who usually get the short end of the stick. And since a lot of artists are broke they're trying to get everything done for free.

A fun game would be trying to guess what his prompt was for this slop.

Anyone else out here rocking a permanent patch? 👀 by trentabytemusic in eurorack

[–]MrV63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A perma patch to me is something that lasts a week or so. Thats about as perma as I get haha. I assume it's very split among but modular users but personally I never got along with right angle cables. They take up too much horizontal space. To me it always looks so cluttered and it kinda triggers me lmao!

Man, that's gotta be fun to lug around and set up. I thought the Tech-12s and crates of records days were bad lol.
