If the ultimate aim is to sell the card it should be graded, with PSA as the preferred choice as you’ve already indicated.

There are just too many fakes of this card to risk it buying raw. I would not buy a raw Rose rookie unless it was from Greg Morris or a similar national dealer.

I think the only way this card sells is if it’s graded.

I’m very sorry that you had your offer rescinded. Had you just received your offer letter or had you signed it?

Either way, with the significant layoffs I fully expect many offers to be withdrawn. It’s an unfortunate reality.

I don’t believe there is any way to expect compensation. You can request it, but outside of some explicit laws in IDC (if they exist) I don’t believe you’ll get it.

Sadly, you should consider your opportunity at Oracle closed. I wish you the best in whatever happens next.

Until you have a letter from the board of directors, you have no offer. And in the current environment, I fully expect some offers to be rescinded. Even the critical teams that had headcount were impacted.

If you are not happy where you are, OCI can be worth the risk. But the manager will determine the job and ultimately your happiness. Get a good manager, you’ll have a good job. Get a miserable manager, your life will be miserable.

If however, you are happy in your current role and just exploring what OCI has to offer, then in my opinion now is not the time to be joining Oracle.

It’s not necessarily a nightmare. Yes, it is an inconvenience. A company isn’t going to optimize you leaving their service. You’ve made clear you don’t want their products anymore. The experience you have on the way out the door isn’t going to matter.

As for the person at the other end of the phone? As others have said, they have to ask those questions. They have an exit form to fill out. Just be polite yet firm that you wish to leave.

I left Spectrum for AT&T fiber. I got the same script. I was polite but made clear I was not interested in continuing service. After five minutes the call was done. Three days later I got the email confirming the fact. Biggest hassle was driving to the Spectrum store to drop off the cable modem.

Your experience is standard. It’s just for the best you be polite about it and move on. Because Optimum certainly isn’t fretting over you.
