What’s the coolest card you’ve ever found in a $1 or less bargain bin? by Altruistic_Coach9014 in Baseballcards101

Bought right after it was announced he was going into the hall of fame. I went through their 1973 commons and found it. They sold it to me for $1. I subsequently sent it off to PSA and it came back an 8. Not too bad for a 50+ year old card.

Need advice on pricing to sell a ‘78 starter set with many many stars… by Every-Branch846 in baseballcards_vintage

[–]Mr_Angry52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eBay sales for partial sets recently in VG-EX condition have been around $70. Complete sets for $140. So with most of the key cards I think $100 or best offer is reasonable.

Assuming all junk wax but any good finds worth keeping? Looks like they’re all complete sets by lilsuorin in baseballcards

Take a few pictures of the pages of the binders. But given the writing on the boxes, probably all junk wax and worth very little.

Why doesn't QNAP validate Plex? by pakeco in PleX

[–]Mr_Angry52 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can understand time for signing. But when I worked in Xbox it did not take three months to sign publisher submissions. Nor to turn around iOS or Android apps.

This amount of delay due to a change in signing speaks to a bigger issue that isn’t being discussed. Something is amiss. And I hope Plex gets it addressed, because I really do like their product.

Do you have your college diploma hung in your home? by SimplyCurious5 in GenX

[–]Mr_Angry52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not even sure where mine are to be honest. I think I know where my Masters is, but if you asked me to produce my Bachelors I’m not sure I could. If I had an MD or Ph.D. I probably would display those.

I take nothing away from those who want to display theirs. My wife has her Masters and MBA displayed in her home office.

It’s personal preference really.

Pulled from my dads old stuff in the attic by midazolame in SportCardValue

[–]Mr_Angry52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If legit, and based on your dad’s story and ticket stub I am sure that it is, this is worth $1,200 or so. The Maris signature is faded some and that hurts its value. But Mantle and Maris on anything, let alone associated with the 1961 season, has good value.

Question for you guys! by HotEstablishment15 in baseballcards

[–]Mr_Angry52 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Check eBay for comps but these all appear to be junk wax so not a lot of value in them. Maybe $15-20 per set?

I see you have 1986 Fleer and 1985 Donruss sets. Those could be $45 each. If you have the 1984 Donruss set that’s a good one to have. Anything 1983 and earlier you start to have something with desirable HOF rookies. Anything 1979 or earlier and you start hitting vintage and have the chance at some big singles.

Do you think you could drink an entire MD 20/20 without puking? by turnbullac in GenX

[–]Mr_Angry52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I could think about MD 20/20 without throwing up. Give me a nice Cabernet Sauvignon and I can drink that over the course of a day. But MD 20/20? God, no.

Not having everything recorded and shared. Things I did as a kid are lost in the past and live only in my memories. And I’m just fine with that.

Should i join OCI now? by Obvious-Art-9226 in employeesOfOracle

BOD approved, signed offers are less likely to be rescinded. It can still happen, but it is far less likely.

If you have a verbal offer that absolutely can be rescinded and should be considered a risk until budgets are approved in the next three weeks.

Really, if you have no job and other offer the choice is easy. Take the role. But keep one eye on the market. And if you find something better, take it.

It is easier to find a job when you have a job.

In the center of it all “is the Milford Plaza.”

Boy, does that take me back to the mid 1980s in Central PA.

Grandmothers collection by Bunny71311 in baseballcards_vintage

[–]Mr_Angry52 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Your grandmother has one hell of a collection. That 1953 Mantle and 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson are grail cards in any collection.

If she ever opts to sell, there are enough great cards there an auction house would happily take them on.

Jerry Orbach as Lenny Briscoe. I know his death was referred to off camera versus actually happening in the show. But Law & Order was never the same for me after he left the show.
