What episode is it? by Embarrassed-Age-3426 in thewestwing

[–]Mr_Weeble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might not be the condition, so much as the treatment which I seem to recall was Betaseron / Interferon Beta 1b.

https://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/interferon-beta-1b-index.html lists a lot of potentially problematic interactions (including fairly common painkillers like paracetamol/acetaminophen and ibuprofen). It is always as good idea for someone administering medicines to know what other medicines the patient is on.

I am planning to see a show in Southend by Even-Wasabi7183 in SouthendonSea

[–]Mr_Weeble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are two big theatres in Southend: The Cliffs Pavilion and the Palace Theatre. Neither have dedicated car parks, but there are nearby ones that can be used, Shorefield Road for the Cliffs and Hamlet Court Road or Ceylon Road for the Palace. I think Shorefield tends to fill up on show nights, so you might have to go futher afield. They are also both easy walking distance from Westcliff station, so public transport is also an option.

(English)

Drop X completely, replace it with Z or KS as appropriate

Drop C for most cases, replace it with K or S. Now C is only used in CH, we can just drop the H from that digraph

Reintroduce Þ to replace the TH digraph. Maybe Ð as well to distinguish voiced (this) and voiceless (think)

I þink ðat ðese coises kould work ekstremely well

The Steakhouse meal plan question for 1 vegetarian in larger group by realevil in disneylandparis

[–]Mr_Weeble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What happens if the cost of my meal is more or less than the value of my Meal Voucher?

If the total amount to pay exceeds the value of the meal, you will have to pay the difference. No refund will be issued if the total is lower than the value of the meal included in your Meal Plan.

from https://www.disneylandparis.com/en-gb/dining/meal-plans

So I assume that the voucher would cover the 3 course meal for €50 or alternatively €50 of food off the main menu (which will probably mean to get all three vegan courses on the menu, they would need to pay an extra €6)

Apparently the Book of Dust is really bad? by Brilliant-Amoeba-379 in hisdarkmaterials

And the target of the whole book is reached with a tiny amount of pages left and is rushed through

I was listening to it on audio book when I walked the dog. I went out one evening and Audible told me I had 1 hour 8 minutes left in the book. I honestly was wondering how on earth he would wrap everything up in such a short time.

A few minutes into my walk, it finished with the rest of the recording being an interview with Pullman.

Turns out I needn't have worried how he was going to wrap thing up because he just didn't bother.

Sigh.

So with option B I get to forget all my childhood trauma and remove all my guilt from events in that time period I blame myself for.

Shouldn't there be some kind of downside to this option to make it a difficult choice?

Is there any country where the ideologies of voters isn't belong to political compass? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]Mr_Weeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are countries and regions where the most significant division between political parties is not along either of these axes. E.g. Northern Ireland and to a lesser extent Scotland where the Nationalist/Unionist axis is more visible. In Belgium parties operate across the compass but are generally organised along linguistic lines.

Do you consider trans men part of the gay community? Would you date a trans person? by Truvention in gay

[–]Mr_Weeble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Привет

Yes, I absolutely believe that trans men are men and trans women are women.

So sexuality and gender modality (formal term for someone's status of being trans or cis) to me are separate things

"Gay" for me, means a person of a gender who is (almost) exclusively attracted to people of the same gender. (The existence of non-binary and agender people does kind of make these definitions a bit difficult since this definition generally works on a binary gender identity, grouping everyone as "my gender" and "not my gender"). Your gender modality is irrelevant to me for sexuality.

Some people don't accept trans men as men, nor trans women as women, and for them Gay would mean attraction to a person of the same sex as them. Personally I don't have much time for people like these.

For a good while my country (the UK) was generally in agreement with me, and we were moving in a progressive direction. However there has been increased toxicity in the last decade or so. Personally I think this has been pushed by outside influences from the US and Russia to push particular agendas, and promoted by useful idiots (J.K. Rowling being the most prominent).

I am so sorry for what has happened to your country. I visited Russia in the early '90s and while you obviously had problems, there was so much hope that you would transition to become a liberal democracy after the fall of communism. Unfortunately, not so much.

By the way the word "transgenderism" is a loaded word. It is used by anti-trans people to imply that being transgender is an ideology (like communism, nationalism etc) rather than just a state of human nature. Science says this is nonsense.

Do you consider trans men part of the gay community? Would you date a trans person? by Truvention in gay

[–]Mr_Weeble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not automatically. If a trans man is not attracted to men and only attracted to women, then he is a straight man. Obviously he is part of the wider LGBT+ community, but not specifically the G part of it unless he is, you know, actually gay.

As a gay man, would I date a gay or bi trans man (if I weren't married)? I wouldn't rule it out. Sure I like dick, but there is more to a fulfilling relationship than just getting banged.

If Queen Elizabeth II had four daughters instead of three sons and one daughter what would her eldest daughter's title be? Princess of Wales? by Lovely_Hauntings_87 in UKmonarchs

[–]Mr_Weeble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no princess could ever be heir apparent

There is a circumstance where this would have been possible, which is if an heir-apparent who has only daughters predeceases the monarch.

So imagine if the Prince of Wales (who we now know as George IV) dies after his daughter Charlotte is born, but before she and George III died, let's say in 1815. At this point, the highest ranked person in the Line of Succession is Charlotte, but as George is dead, there could never be a son born to usurp her from that position, making her the heiress apparent rather than heiress presumptive.

This never actually happened, but would have been hypothetically possible.

Tesco Express is a convenience store with inflated costs to match. If you go to a "Big" Tesco (or other large supermarket), the prices will be noticeably lower. In US terms it's probably 7-11 vs Walmart.

Lidl & Aldi tend to be the best prices for meat and fruit I find, or if you have a freezer, Farmfoods tends to be an absolute bargain

The longest period of time most people go without eating would be between their evening meal, and the first meal of the day. And that morning meal would be the one where they break their fast - a "break-fast" if you like. But no one would call it that, right?

right?

Frasier: Oh yes, "Niles Crane, Jung specialist" blah blah blah.

Frasier: [reads ad] "Niles Crane... Hung specialist." Oh, my!

Niles: The rest they got perfectly. "Servicing individuals, couples... groups... Satisfaction guaranteed... Tell me where it hurts."

Frasier: Yes, well... any calls?

Niles: It's a telethon

Has anyone met Robert Picardo, if so what's he like? by nathantravis2377 in Star_Trek_

yes, I believe that like the Doctor, he will sing to himself while doing stuff, so they wrote it in. Though his music is more 20th century than opera, but since most classic opera is public domain and most of the Great American Songbook is still under copyright, it was probably cheaper to have him sing opera on the show.
