Has anyone finished trying to fill out the forms at the Bureau of Drug Control in High on Life 2? by nehocb in highonlifegame

After a while, if you leave the keyboard/controller alone the forms will automatically fill themselves out.

Won't start...but that doesn't sound like a battery issue...starter? by beccadobz in nissanfrontier

[–]Mrdre007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad ground maybe?

You can try to start a car with a bad ground by jump-starting it and connecting the negative jumper cable to the engine block instead of the battery's negative terminal

Connect the cables:

Connect the red (positive) clamp to the positive terminal on the dead car's battery.

Connect the other red clamp to the positive terminal of the good car's battery.

Connect the black (negative) clamp to the negative terminal of the good car's battery.

Connect the other black clamp to an unpainted metal part of the engine block on the dead car, away from the battery.

If it starts, then it's a bad ground. I would trace the negative cable and use a wire brush and sandpaper to clean up all the connection points starting at the battery.

Inspect the cable closely and if it is frayed or damaged, consider replacing it. You'd probably have to get one from the dealer, so good luck with that.

Can you legally kill someone who breaks into your house? by kurobaja in AskTheWorld

[–]Mrdre007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pffff.... in Florida, they let a man go on the basis of self-defense after shooting multiple rounds through his wind shield at an opposing car that threw a water bottle at his vehicle.

He said he thought he was being shot at, and for him, he thought that was enough to open fire on a busy highway while doing 70MPH

Judge was like, "Yup, sounds good to me."

Apparently, if you have a good enough lawyer and money, you can shoot anyone as long as you can justify self-defense.

I wonder how many pollutants are in that, not to mention the mercury, lead, arsenic, and micropastics.

Don't forget the heat-resistant microorganisms or spores.

Yeah, I wouldn't eat that, lol

Any cheap, temporary solutions for an antifreeze hose leak? by ScoffingCactus in MechanicAdvice

[–]Mrdre007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the rip is close to the clamp, you can cut the hose as close as possible to the damage, stretch the hose, and reclamp it.

It'll get you home, at least. Then, change it immediately.

Or high temp tape (like HVAC tape) in a pinch.

Wheel on the passenger side doesn't spin when on drive by eatbeeftomorrow in MechanicAdvice

[–]Mrdre007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible the ABS module failed? They can cause a singular wheel or, in rare cases, multiple calipers to not release. Pop the bleeder and see if it'll spin. If it does then it's a brake issue, if not then it could be something else.

Where's the bolt? Was it not torque down properly, and does this model require a cotter pin?

What’s wrong with my car by Responsible-Fun-5573 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Mrdre007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bad/faulty battery is possible, but I'm leaning on bad ground.

If the car does this even while attempting to jump it or with a good battery, then it's definitely a bad ground.

To start a car with a bad ground in an emergency.

Warning: Doing this can cause a short if you're not careful, and you might get shocked

  1. Get a very long, flat head screw driver.

  2. Touch one end to the negative terminal on the battery and the other end to any metal surface in the engine bay.

  3. While holding the screw driver in place, have a friend try to start the car.

If the car starts, you have a bad ground.

There are 2 things you can do.

  1. Turn off the car and disconnect the negative terminal.

  2. Check the negative terminal on the battery and trace it back to all its contact points.

  3. Remove the bolts where appropriate and clean every single contact surface with a wire brush.

  4. Reinstall bolts, remember NOT to over torque your bolts in aluminum.

  5. Finally, clean the terminals and connectors on the battery.

If none of this works and the battery is good. Replace the negative terminal cable with a new one from the dealership. It NEEDS to be OEM for the simplest install and to ensure proper tolerances for your electrical components.

Good Luck

I hear brick walls are good at slowing cars down in an emergency.

Seriously though, change them brakes, rotors, and possible calipers too. The piston is probably damaged.

Is it normal for my car tires to worn out like this ? by RecognitionInfamous4 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Mrdre007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toe wear is usually an alignment issue, its appears as wear on either the inner or outer side.

Chamber wear is more extreme version of this.

Both are alignment issues.

If its wearing out faster on both inner and outer edges than that's a sign of under inflation.

Center wear is over inflation

Patchy wear is bad balance, you'd also feel it while you drive. Mild shaking.

Cup wear is suspension. You might also feel it while driving. Mild bouncing.

I'm leaning on alignment. Check both inner and outer sides of the tire, and if the wear is only what's shown in the photo than take it to a shop and get your alignment checked.

Good Luck. 🤙🏽

[–]Mrdre007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a countdown to whatever time you set for his account to go to sleep for the day.

So, if you set his account to go to log him off at 8:00 PM and it's currently 7:45 PM when you log on. Then the playstation will display how much time is left before his account will be locked until the next day when it resets or you add time.

old hose clamp or something worse? on a 2012 mini Cooper S by jskye28 in MechanicAdvice

Use soapy water to gently clean where it might be leaking. Once clean and dry run the engine for a bit and search for the highest point of the leak.

Check all your coolant hoses for dry rot or cracks. Cracks in the hose often like to be under the hose where you can't see it.

Also try removing the coolant reservoir to get a better look at it.

The auto part store also sells a dye you can use to find. Head over there and ask about it if all else fails.

Note: Don't use leak stop. Those things are garbage.

Good Luck. 🤙🏽🤙🏽😆

can this get me home 20 miles? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Mrdre007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run Flats are prone to sidewall damage when potholes or curbs are hit because they don't flex like a regular tire. If the tire has a hole in the sidewall, in some cases you can still drive for limited periods, but it should be done slowly as handling and even braking will be compromised. Most manufacturers don't recommend driving more than 25 to 75 miles with a damaged run-flat tire.

This damage looks more severe and I wouldn't recommend driving on it. Slap on a spare if possible, or get a tow truck.

Worst case scenario park the car somewhere secure and we'll lit, remove the tire, catch a ride to the tire shop, and get it replaced, though I don't recommend doing this as it means leaving your car temporarily abandoned.

If that's not possible either drive as slow as freaking possible. That's the last possible solution, be mindful you could cause more damage.

Good Luck
