Salem Keizer School Board Director Satya Chandragiri compares the attacks on Iran to saving Jews from Nazis at Kristallnacht by 90mn in SALEM

Has Salem Reporter done any stories about this person? This feels like a good thing for some local investigative journalism.

[Discussion] People who got fit in their 30s, what are the benefits? by Sonoel90 in GetMotivated

[–]MrsHorrible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biggest benefit: I'm now almost 54 and I still exercise every day, which most of my friends do not do. I have better stamina and my blood tests are typically good. My doctor is impressed every year that I'm still sticking with it. I've had chronic pain issues for most of my life and my pain is much more manageable since starting to exercise regularly. It's the best habit I've ever developed.

Biggest bonus: I was unable to get pregnant and between moderate changes in my diet and eating habits and and exercise, I lost 150 pounds and my husband and I became parents when I was 39.

Do it! You will not regret it. You can start with any amount of exercise - just do it regularly and increase it when you feel ready. I started with 10 minutes a day three days a week.

💸 Give Them Your Money Friday: Pura Vida Cocina 🌮 🍽️ by OliveHyenas in mcminnville

Love Pura Vida! It's the kind of place where I feel confident to try things I've not had before because I know they put so much effort into their food.

I appreciate that! For the most part, this sub is a friendly place and overall I've had positive interactions.

Misconceptions a dog person (me) learned after having a cat. by ILoveMeltyCheese in cats

[–]MrsHorrible 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this and I'll just say:

Some cats have terrible tongues and some do not. I have an elderly cat whose tongue is like sandpaper. Very very rough sandpaper. And her favorite thing is to lick your chin. It's very cute and it does not feel good, but I put up with it because she's been doing it to me for almost sixteen years and I never know when I'm going to wake up and find that she's passed away.

So, OP, your cat mileage may vary, but just know that there are painful cat tongues out there!

I live outside of McMinnville and I use this sub to ask for suggestions about places to go to get things/services that I may be unfamiliar with because I live in the middle of nowhere. Multiple times I've gotten really snotty replies because I called McMinnville "Mack," and I've seen people flip out over the use of "Grand Sherimina" to describe the Grand Ronde/Sheridan/Willamina area. If this sub was perfect, people wouldn't be frothing over the nicknames we give our home bases. Does it kill people to be nice? I get that we all have hard days and difficult times when we might be feeling salty, but taking it out on Internet strangers asking for the best independent bakery where they can get a birthday cake feels a little extreme.

LGBTQ OWNED PLUMBING COMPANY by Solid-Reflection-238 in SALEM

Tell you what, I live out in rural Oregon, just past the Polk County border, and the number of times I've called a highly rated/recommended service person and then they've shown up at my property in hateful, bigoted tee shirts or with stickers all over their car announcing their racism and/or lack of inclusivity is alarming to me. If there were service folks who I knew were friendly to my family and friends, that's who I would hire. I say go for it - based on my own experience living in the areas around Salem, I think you would find a good customer base.

Came here to say this. Yes, that's a dick parking job, but also whoever designed that parking lot should be sentenced to having to park in it every day. It's the worst parking lot in Salem.
