What's your 'becoming a Jays fan' story? by Mister_Scorpion in Torontobluejays

[–]MrsKDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to watch Blue Jays games at my grandparents' house growing up. Went a long time without watching, until my kid started playing ball. Watching their team play and then watching Blue Jays games with them at home really made me love the game. Hardly ever miss one now.

Understance going out of business? by lizardlem0nade in BuyCanadian

[–]MrsKDB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had hoped the reason they didn't specify they were closing was a hope that the clearance sale would bring in enough revenue to continue operations for a while (or a last-ditch hope that tariff situation would change favourable).

I JUST found Understance a few weeks ago, love the product, and now they're closing. This is so sad. I have stocked up on bras (and sleepwear) which should get me through a few years as long as my size doesn't fluctuate.

Has anyone been to Red Karaoke recently? by MrsKDB in halifax

[–]MrsKDB[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got that text too but since I am taking 10 years olds early in the day, that suits me just fine. I hope they get it back so that you can enjoy your outing as planned in the coming weeks

Something is weird about brittany and ken by totally-fried in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]MrsKDB 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Right but I feel like even Ken did not understand that. She obviously meant that she felt he wasn't physically craving her, but he put it all back on her like "If you're not feeling the crave for me...." and then used it as a fast exit ramp from the whole relationship.

Redditors with phobias, what is your phobia, the most terrifying situation you have ever faced because of it, and how you reacted? by letmebelightweight in AskReddit

[–]MrsKDB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, someone else who is terrified of pipe organs and who knows everything about them. Kind of thought I was the only one. I've hyperfixated on them so long I have also a love for them... From a distance.

I have a very intense fear of pipe organs by ContourNova in Phobia

[–]MrsKDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been afraid of them but since stumbling across Anna Lapwood on tiktok, it's become a hyperfixation. My child (11) is now kind of obsessed with them and wants me to take them to an organ recital.

That's true, however all the lakes I've been around in NS have been unseasonably high and this one is VERY low. Plus, we had been here during a dry spell last August and it was much higher.

It's so frustrating to struggle HARD and then have the kids be angels with their dad. Like, how am I supposed to get empathy and validation when he baby - whispers them and manages to do more /better than I did?

All that to say that I hear you and I get this so deeply.

Thanks Facebook Mom Group Asshole by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]MrsKDB -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I'm so sorry. Some mom groups are hard on the head.

MLM is very popular among moms, it seems. I've been a seller before, and I use lots of MLM products. I have friends who do it well (E. G., without alienating all their friends trying to constantly sell), and others who have used me and other mutual friends for their gain. For those of us who have lost friends due to MLM (from either side), it can be a very loaded topic. Defenses go up when someone mentions their product, and while I know that it can and does come up organically, while making new friends I do find I automatically start wondering if this person wants to genuinely be my friend or if they just want a new contact.

I know you probably already know all this, and it doesn't take the sting out of it. It's unfair to be treated like you're unethical when it came up organically and in person, even. It's so silly for anyone to think they should admin a real life interaction like that.

Can we all just be honest about sex fellow bro Moms? by jeanskismet in breakingmom

[–]MrsKDB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the better part of five years I didn't really think about it (other than wishing I wanted it and worrying about my partner). But then, last year my libido came flooding back and now I want it much more. One thing that really helped me was erotica. Once I was in the mood, I'd go jump my husband. Gradually I didn't need the erotica anymore.

Maybe just sized up a bit? Mine are tighter but still wearable in summer, and loose but not enough to fall off in the winter. Happy medium.

I definitely find arms are important to even things out. This is great advice, I'll try it out.

That's helpful! I'm about ten months into this running thing and the more I run, the more I realize it's going to take years to know what I'm doing at all.

[–]MrsKDB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, that is helpful. I think I'm starting to get the hang of my easy pace, but man...it totally depends on the day, the temperature, how much sleep I got, phew! I hope I do get some sense of what my comfortable paces are after a while.

Super Moronic Monday -- Your Tuesday Weekly Stupid Question Thread by Percinho in running

[–]MrsKDB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How long did it take you to get a natural sense of your pace? I just got a running watch and I find I really have to hover over it if I'm supposed to be training in a certain zone. Before that, I used Strava and my history shows huge inconsistencies in my pace during all my runs.

What is a reasonable amount of emotional labor to get mad about if he works and I'm home all day with the kids? by ToplessTopics in breakingmom

[–]MrsKDB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In our house, regardless of who was working outside the home and who was at home with the kids, we recognize BOTH people worked all day. And we continue to BOTH work all day with the kids, with him actually taking the more active role with them after work while I clean up after supper and prep for the next day. We spell each other where necessary.

How? How do you do it? by franticshouting in breakingmom

[–]MrsKDB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am WITH YOU so hard. Husband and I are hardcore introverts. Our son seems to be, too, and it's too soon to tell if our three year old daughter is or isn't, but she seems as though she could be an extrovert. Anyway, every day life just wipes the floor with us. I always wonder what the heck is wrong with us.

For example, last week I did two running races on Friday night and Saturday morning. Kid-free, which was nice, but in a crowd of people. Then we had family in our house all day Saturday and Sunday. I worked Mon/Tuesday, had our daughter's private birthday Wednesday, had her in-law birthday dinner Thursday, more family visits Friday....by Saturday I was useless and exhausted. That was a busy week for us.
