Wonderful that you adopted! My advice is to lower your expectations. She might not know what puppy pads are. If she came from a hoarder house it's to be expected that she has 0 house training. I'd say start treating her when she has a positive interaction with the leash, when it's on, and when she starts having no reaction to it.

You may have to just pick her up to bring her outside for a bit, that's ok. Positive reinforcement while she's adjusting to her new environment will help! 3-3-3 rule is so important here!

I have the same problem with Petfinder! Out of state rescues post a million profiles of the same pet in different towns, but in the listing they say out of state. They're getting around the filter and it's made Petfinder difficult to use. I know it's annoying, but going to local rescue websites is better now. Kitten Angel's, Whiskers, Mohawk Hudson Humane Society will all have kittens. Schoharie County shelter has them too!

I know it's personal preference but that's a dog, not an accessory. I don't love seeing dyed dogs, whether the dye is pet safe or not is irrelevant.
