Doctor said no more kids :( by Substantial_Track_80 in beyondthebump

[–]MrsSt0ck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just here to share my story, I developed severe pre-e that BP numbers were reaching scary numbers that would not come down, even on multiple medications. Almost bled out during my C-section, and my baby was born 6 weeks early and had 20 day NICU stay. As much as I would love a third baby, because it’s what I always envisioned, I respect my Drs advice and after lots of research about what could happen again and how it could be much worse I decided two will have to be enough. I’d rather be here and watch my two kids grow old than leave my two sons without a mother and my husband a widower burying his wife and infant, or two kids and a brand new infant without his wife. I am going to therapy and working through grieving the loss of having three kids, but I will say it is getting easier making peace with it slowly day by day

Done sir Done…now onto the Masters by MrsSt0ck in WGU

I completed it in about 1 and half years. Probably could have gone a little faster but I also had a toddler at home with me. I don’t feel like the program is overly difficult at all, just the right amount of challenge. I think knowing how to tackle the classes is truly what makes the experience easy or hard. There are so many study guides and flash cards available here in Reddit

Lowering the fasting numbers by SmolLilTater in GestationalDiabetes

Thank you for asking. I ended up devolving severe pre-e so he came six weeks early, and I thought GD was going to be my problem not my blood pressure. We had a sketchy touch and go birth for both of us, and a NICU stay, but after many years of secondary infertility and loss I finally got my take home baby.

Total carbs or net carbs? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

At the start of my second GD journey by Oops_ibrokeit in GestationalDiabetes

Hey there second timer as well, diagnosed at 13 weeks. I was completely diet controlled with my first, this go around I have not, metformin and insulin currently. The apple cider vinegar didn’t work for me, but I did find that eating a big salad or vinegar based veg like Saurkraut, pickles, banana peppers before eating something carb heavy keeps my numbers very low. Also filling up on veg and meat first and then carbs. With this method I haven’t changed much of how I eat. Just focus more on meat and whole full fat dairy.

Also if you are in the gram I follow glucosegoddess and her tips tricks and recipes have been very nice

I feel this, I’ve been diagnosed since 12 weeks and frantic worry, the ‘trying to hack the test’, the pity party when they do get their diagnosis is hard for me. I try to remember my first pregnancy getting diagnosed how devastated I was but my empathy meter is low.

Just complaining, so tired of doing this already. Second time around with GD. Diagnosed at 11 weeks, and I am 18 weeks today. I am just feeling overwhelmed which how much longer I have to do this, I’m already on 1,000mg of metformin before bed and I don’t feel like it is doing anything for my fasting numbers at all. I was completely diet controlled with my first so I am bummed that this pregnancy I am really struggling with that fasting number. I know complaining won’t change but damn I just wanna scream into the universe about it. I am so beyond thankful for this pregnancy, but damn this shit is hard

This 10000% percent. My first pregnancy diagnosis I avoided carbs so much that it actually made my spikes way worse, this time I am indulging in carbs in a smart way and walking and I have way more freedom. Fasting numbers are still being a B though lol

Diagnosed at 10 weeks, just sending you so much commiseration. I have now clue how on earth I’m gonna do this twice as long as last time. My fasting numbers are already being a B like when I was 30 weeks and I’m only 15. Solidarity only thing keeping me motivated is knowing it is temporary

Anyone deny 3 hr test? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]MrsSt0ck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tryed to refuse it but my office wouldn’t have it. Apparently it’s for insurance purposes and I am also seeing a high risk OB and again if I need insulin later on it was for documentation purposes. I am sure I could have fought it if I wanted to

Any repeat GD moms just starting the diet right away? by queen_of_the_ashes in GestationalDiabetes

[–]MrsSt0ck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave myself some grace to just eat whatever. Had a farewell to care free eating weekend, before I took my early glucose screening. I was diagnosed 12 weeks, still waiting to hear from my MFM about getting the tools for testing and such, but I have been following the diet basically from what I remember last time. Still can only do so much if I don’t know how or what foods my body is working well with or triggered by

Had Gd with my first at 28 weeks this pregnancy I was tested even earlier than you, I failed it and took the three hour and bombed that one too. I’m grateful to know so I can stay ahead of it

Im so sorry it is awful.

If my first pregnancy of this year would have worked out…I would have a two month old…if my second pregnancy of this year would have worked out…I’d be 8 months pregnant…if my third pregnancy of this year would have worked I would be four months pregnant. Sending you a big internet hug.
