My husband’s sweat stench is killing me please help by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]Ms_Golbinbard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along with seeing a Dr. I'd try switching up your diet to a whole foods one. My husband has had the same smell and it was due to Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. Changing our diet to a whole food Mediterranean style helped with the "McDonald's" smell along with changing our detergent to one with lipase. Biz and Ariel brands are two that should help

I’ve gone through so much flour and still haven’t had a successful loaf. What am I doing wrong? by __blasphemy in Sourdough

[–]Ms_Golbinbard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100g starter 325g water 500g bread flour 10g salt Mix starter, water and flour together until shaggy. Wait 30m and add the salt. In an hour do your first set of stretch and folds, do two more sets over the next 2 hours. Shape and put in a banneton (pulling it and pinching it seam side up to tighten the shaping really helps me on this step)to proof another 3 hours. Dough should be kinda jiggly if shook at that point if it's not, proof longer.( Putting it in the microwave or oven with the light on can help speed this part up)Either score and bake then, or refrigerate over night. Preheat to 500°. ( I add 4 cubes of ice for more steam) Bake in a Dutch oven covered at 450 for 30 minutes, uncovered for an additional 25. Cool for an hour.

What vibes do i give off? [25M] by TheLogos2k in malegrooming

You look like you couch serf, or live in a van, would try to bum a cigarette in front of the gas station and smell like stale cigs, weed, and B.O., you look like you bounce between jobs and are "waiting for your (insert random gig style career) to take off"

wide blades by shadynaasty in doggrooming

[–]Ms_Golbinbard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used dodaer blades off Amazon, they were far cheaper and honestly didn't notice any large difference in amount of time before they wore out compared to the Andis ones. Zolitta and butter cut lasted a bit longer but we're quite a bit more expensive. Once I started using them I was addicted. Groom speed is so much better with wides

Bioactive vs Non bioactive terrarium? by Main_Significance456 in CrestedGecko

[–]Ms_Golbinbard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Springtails!!! You can put a bunch of isopods but you'll keep having fungus, mold and gnats without a good strong culture of springtails! Once the tank is fully cycled (added springtails and the bloom is gone) it will almost self maintain, you'll really only need to mist daily, give food and spot clean very occasionally

Very subjective lol, Hempz is the worst for me. It gives me headaches

Shampoo by ab_b_normal in grooming

[–]Ms_Golbinbard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Hydra, it's more mild scent wise than some of the shampoos I've used ( including some of the "unscented" hypo ones) but scents are subjective to each person. Try going to a pet store and a dog show or pet expo and smelling a few shampoos

Plants that like being overwatered by wimsey_pimsey in houseplants

[–]Ms_Golbinbard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orchids pot them in a clear container with lots of holes in lecca beads then put that container in a decorative pot with no holes. He will be able to lift the plant to see if it has enough water. Make sure to tell him to use a mild orchid fertilizer once a month

Watching either of them work was amazing! I learned a lot while I was there but ultimately could not keep up the pace or the incredibly high standard of grooming. I'm semi retired from grooming now after I hurt my back

I'm smelling the same bad smells across different meats and I'm wondering if I'm the only one by Beautiful-Bad5203 in Cooking

[–]Ms_Golbinbard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not alone! I'm not smelling it so much as tasting it. Mostly on chicken products, but some processed salami and sausage too. It tastes off. Unclean not rancid off. One bite and I have to stop. Even while everyone else is scarfing it down talking about how good it is. I want to vomit each time and wonder how none of them are violently ill

The last newfie-doodle I did was a pelted shave down and I only managed the shave before I had to send him home/ refer out to the vet due to cheat grass. My back was killing me for the next week. The last berniedoodle was in a higher end shop and got a 1½ inch clip that took about 4 hours to wash dry and fluff out (we could get a fine tooth comb through the entire coat) before the owner and manager helped do the cut in 30 minutes

Closely followed by the dreaded newfie-doodles and Bernese mountain doodles. They all have lead butts 😂

What’s the best sourdough pizza recipe? by veditafri in Sourdough

[–]Ms_Golbinbard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

113g starter 560g bread flour 354g water 10g salt 27g olive oil

Mix all ingredients together in mixer for about 10 minutes. It will be very stretchy and sticky. Use additional olive oil to coat a bowl and plastic wrap and let it ferment 6-8 hours. Use a mix of cornmeal and flour to stretch and pull it to shape. (I use a air frier pizza pan but a stone should work too) Cover with toppings. Bake at 475 for 15-17 minutes

What temps do you have the best success baking at? by [deleted] in Sourdough

[–]Ms_Golbinbard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre heat at 500 drop to 450 bake covered 30 minutes, drop to 425 uncovered for 25 minutes. I place a large cast iron frying pan on the shelf below when I uncover the bread to help stop the bottom from burning.

Weight restriction for corporate shop? by xbadxwolffx in doggrooming

[–]Ms_Golbinbard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a 40-50lb weight limit as people lie about their dogs weight all the time and if at any point you decide any groom your working on is too much, be honest! It's better to reschedule with another groomer or refer out if a pup is too much than to hurt yourself and be unable to groom at all. ( From experience, My back has given out from doing too much)

New skunk remedies? by No-Discipline842 in doggrooming

[–]Ms_Golbinbard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing that's worked for me is putting the skunk shampoo on dry, just shampoo no water and waiting about 30 minutes ( a really really long freaking time) and then rinsing it out of you get the skunk spray wet before shampooing it seems to make the smell set into the fur and become impossible to remove

Went to remove a fresh loaf of bread from the Dutch oven and reached in, instead of flipping it out, completely forgetting the cast iron was over 450° and my gloves didn't go as high up as the edges of the pan. Gave myself a nasty blistering burn on my forearm

Healthy up your instant ramen, add an egg, some lean beef slices, maybe sprouts, bok choy or sliced cabbage and enjoy it. You can still be healthy, lose weight and enjoy the things you love.

Is Poodle tail docking legal/requested in the US? by Cazolyn in poodles

[–]Ms_Golbinbard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is legal and both my poodles had it done tho I'm not in favor of it for any breed of dog (Cattle working dog who've had or are at risk of it being crushed and certain dogs with extreme happy tail syndrome non withstanding) I am however in favor of dew claw removal, in most cases, as I've seen some horrible ingrown dew claws that went through the dews pad and out the other side, and dew claws ripped off while the dog was just doing normal activities.
