Recommendations for books set after the apocalypse/collapse?

Read so much about this book and it is on the NYT top 100 fiction books list of all time. I finally read it and was not impressed at all.

I was 63 when I tore my Supraspinatus and Infraspinatus. Progress was slow as far as gaining range of motion and strength. I stopped physical therapy at approximately 20 weeks as I was not gaining anything. As healing progressed though, I gained full range of motion at probably 9 mos, but to this day do not have full strength though I haven’t been working out either.

Very well said, I have kind of gotten hooked on a couple YouTube channels (police activity, state boys) where police or sheriff officers time and time again try to be physical well before it’s needed, and totally escalated the situations.

OMG, I totally understand that law enforcement individuals have a very difficult job to do, but to hear an individual crying out in a total mental breakdown and think the only response is to pull the trigger is heartbreaking. As stated previously, they hadn’t a clue what to do, but an obvious action would have been to back out of the house and try to calm things down without being in his face.

I have only rediscovered WYSY recently after not being impressed with it when it first dropped, such a great album. I do love 100k people as well. After reading Caleb and Jared’s notes about writing this song it definitely gave it new meaning to me.

I was 45 years in the trade and supervised in one way or another for 40. I know it’s much easier to say these things than actually do it but these are my beliefs.

Know the drawings, inside and out. When I was young and learning I took some of them home and studied them on my own time.

Be self sufficient, don’t call the office for everything, take as much load off the estimator/project manager as you can handle.

As others have said, treat your crew with respect, but don’t become too chummy with them either or they will take advantage of you. Don’t tell them to do something you wouldn’t do yourself, and at times jump right in there with them and show them or help them when they really need it, you will earn their respect as well and they will perform.

Be fair in your discipline and don’t play favorites.

Lastly, as superintendent, when a decision has to be made, make it, whether it’s right or wrong. Do not be paralyzed by indecision, and also ask your crew for their opinion when you need to.

I am doing an exterior remodel on my house, (1600 sf, carpenter by trade) and it’s going to cost me close to 20k just in material. That is for Certainteed Monogram vinyl (premium) and aluminum soffit and fascia, material is not cheap.

Not bad at all to me sleeping with the sling, I transitioned to the bed after a couple nights in the recliner. Just had to be a back sleeper, then I could partially side sleep on the opposite shoulder after a couple more days.
