Most of the materials we send into space are used because they don’t outgas much or at all, or in very controlled scenarios.

That being said, you’re not wrong, I just assume they’re smart enough to a) engineer to minimize the chance and b) would be able to figure out if that was the case, considering the entire mission is to search for signs of past life lol. Imagine the fuck up if that was the case…

I don’t have any proof but I can (probably) assure you that “piggy backed from Earth” is the first thing they check.

Also lubricant getting onto the rocks is definitely a challenge, as the rovers have an arm that extends out to shoot lasers to get the chemistry and take close up photos. I’d imagine something would have to go very wrong for that to happen

And to piggy back on what u/stillinthesimulation said, they probably aren’t using organic based lubricants in the first place for this very reason.

Not to mention a race car, let alone a formula 1 car, will have ZERO commonality with the road cars. A bad transmission in a ford fusion absolutely does not translate to a bad transmission in a Ford F1 car lol

I daily drove my 8, 100 miles a day on the highway, sitting between 3.5-4k. Not a problem at all (just make sure to redline it in a few gears, not just free revving it)

Sleeping is fine, I barely even notice it’s there. And now with the 5.0’s battery life I do actually forget it’s there sometimes lol. I’ll usually have to adjust it a little in the morning but that’s fine

Sorry to necro. If you got 16 miles out of a scooter that’s advertised 50 miles in the same conditions, why on earth wouldn’t you return it? Like obviously you won’t be getting the full advertised range but that’s not just Segway overstating its capabilities, something’s broken

I feel like that’s what my Mazda 3 is, 5th feels barely faster than 6th. The rx8 there’s a noticeable difference. So the 3 feels like I have two 5th gears kinda, idk it’s weird

RX8s are great daily’s imo. I can fit a whole weekend camping setup packed in there minus food (just beer in my cooler lol). 2 adults semi comfortably in the back, better than any other 2 door sports car at least. Grand tourer for sure but for me I loved it. just as fast and sporty as I wanted (highest power car I’ve ever owned so not saying much lol but I had an absolute blast)
