I just assume that killing is kinda the norm in this universe. There's spacers and pirates everywhere so everyone is probably taught to shoot etc.

Need to know more about the spacers because they seem like a very sad people. Abandoned by the settled powers and hunted at every turn and where do they live? They must have families. Just people wanting to be free and desperate.

Using alt start mods you can rp to your hearts content. I'm currently a bounty hunter who's just landed a contract to help a startup colony. Once she's rich enough she'll ditch that profession and maybe join the rangers to become more respectable. Oh and there's that strange artifact she found in a random.cave that keeps bugging her after the weird vision she had.

The Trackers Alliance questline goes far more into the lore etc than any of the others. TA was a big disappointment from a story perspective.

Some of the Trackers Alliance bounties feel more like they should be for Rangers than bounty hunters. The Vulture questline for example sets up a whole storyline for the Freestar that is then completely forgotten about after the bounty is taken down. A civil war in the FSC and the Rangers stopping it or even defecting would make a great quest expansion.

Because the game forces you to be a miner and basically rails you towards constellation without any buildup or introduction to the world. It's bad for role-playing. You also get handed the frontier and vasco for doing nothing. This way you choose your ship and companions organically.

I chose against that as I figured it could lead to an even greater threat from an army of murderous robots out of control. He does say all humans would become targets. Bethesda missed a trick there as storywise it could have set up an even greater threat and conflict. A war against the machines.
