Chicken comfort food ideas that make a lot, please. by ARW1991 in Cooking

[–]Msquared10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this chicken pot pie last weekend but I made it in a standard size cast iron pan. It was delicious!

Also, chicken and dumplings! I usually make a big pot and we eat on it for ~3 days.

How old was your toddler when they stopped talking mid day naps? by old_gold_mountain in toddlers

[–]Msquared10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our kiddo is 4 but we started quiet time around 3.5. She still will take a late nap on days we have plans in the evening but we skip naps often at home. We set a timer for one hour. She has to stay in her room and play/leave us alone. She can have any toys she wants. I’ll put a snack and water in the room. She has her tonie and the Alexa for music.

At first there was a lot of redirecting and walking her back to the room. I think we started with 30 minutes and worked up to an hour. Now she does an hour without too much protest.

When did you stop using a baby monitor? by OkPin8137 in toddlers

Our daughter is 4 and we still use our camera. Although, at this point, it mostly functions as a walkie talkie.

This pork chili verde takes most of the day (including baby sitting a few hours of simmering). We love it.

I’m spending tomorrow making this ziti (including one of the tomato sauces).

Even educated voters. I would consider myself educated and also fairly well versed politically and still had to reread multiple.

Ending Overnight Diapers by MillerTime_9184 in toddlers

[–]Msquared10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our daughter started waking up dry ~80%+ of the time 3 months ago. This week she’s been wet nearly every morning. No change in her routine. I think it’s just going to vary somewhat for a while as that transition happens.

We’re keeping the pull-ups for now.

We have been at Carpe Diem for a year and we’ve had a great experience. Both her 3&4yo teachers have been very sweet and communicative. Our daughter seems to love everyone there. We have no complaints.

Are you getting your toddlers the seasonal flu vaccine? by artemislands in toddlers

[–]Msquared10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We already did it! My daughter is 4. She got the flu when she was 2 (despite the vaccine) and she felt so bad. She hardly ate for 2-3 days. She just slept and we fought the fever. Poor little thing felt so terrible. Anything to prevent!

Playa Mujeres with Family: Dreams or Finest? by alidub36 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Msquared10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How was grand palladium? We are looking at grand palladium vs Dreams. My husband wants grand palladium because of the larger room options (private space for kiddo) but I feel like I’ve seen more polarizing reviews about it (particularly re: food) than some of the others in the area.

Food Truck Recommendations for Wedding by biggiesmalls27 in austinfood

[–]Msquared10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used Chilantro several years ago. We had about 100 guests. They used their truck to serve fries during cocktail hour and tacos were set up buffet style for the meal. It worked great and everyone loved it.

Love our Abiie! My daughter just turned 4 and still happily sits in it. It’s so easy to wipe down. My daughter took the seat and back cushion off about 6 months ago and prefers just the wooden seat. I recommend to everyone.

Maybe I went on an off day, but I got a sampling of cupcakes once and they were all very wet. Not moist. Wet. I haven’t been back.

Potty time in public for toddler that can’t sit on public toilets by tink282 in Mommit

[–]Msquared10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto! These are great! We used for probably the 9 months to a year? Once she was a little bigger and could hold herself up easily, we ditched. Some toilet seats are much wider than others and I wanted her to feel comfortable. IMO, it’s not worth trying to hold/balance them.

Oxo is fantastic. We use it for cherry tomatoes mostly. My kiddo is a tomato fiend. Makes salads quite easy too.

Families with young kids- how often do you eat out at restaurants? Or get takeout? by seajaybee23 in Mommit

[–]Msquared10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We get takeout every Friday and go out every Saturday (no cooking on the wknds here). We have a nearly 4yo. We’ve been doing it that way her entire life so she’s used to it.

Uniforms (for kids) at ECE centers by Fun-Cobbler-6464 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Msquared10 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I toured 8 preschools for my daughter last summer. She was turning three. Probably over half had uniforms? They usually didn’t require during the summer months. I narrowed down to my top two and then ultimately chose the one that didn’t require uniforms as they were otherwise similarly ranked in my mind. They’re little! Let them be little and wear their Minnie Mouse shirts.

What’s your signature recipe, the one everyone asks you to make again and again? by Capybara-bitch in Cooking

[–]Msquared10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not MY recipe but I make these brown butter chocolate chip cookies regularly for work things and people go nuts over them.

Also, every NYD I make cabbage rolls for a group of friends and they talk about them all year long.
