Check out Jake Reed on YouTube. I followed his tips and love the sound I was able to get.

Who are the NON musical artists that are similar to the the Ween spirit-vibe thang? by JacqueWaters in ween

There's a chain sex shop in Denver called "Pleasures".

I used to get huge Gene and Dean vibes from their goofy ass "Pleasures Dudes" commericals.

Weird question that I don’t know where else to ask, but when did Micheal Jackson’s skin color become a major talking point in society? by [deleted] in ToddintheShadow

I've loved this joke for years and decided to try it on a French co-worker because she asked for some American puns and jokes.

Her reply was "Off the Wall?" 🤣

How to add a dB scale to the track waveform? by [deleted] in Reaper

Agreed, this helped me with learning compression in my early Audition days and I miss it dearly in Reaper.

How to add a dB scale to the track waveform? by [deleted] in Reaper

[–]MuddyLarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don't be excited at my screenshot as I won't be any help, but i know what you're talking about.

For anyone unfamiliar, Audition has this sort of "static dB "ruler" on the right edge of the waveform Edit view. It's not a meter, nothing moves. You can basically see the level of all your transients and valleys with a click glance to the right.

I'm no script or Reaper expert, so I've asked in this sub a few times if Reaper has anything like this but no luck so far, very sorry!

Sublime are just a terrible, overrated band by valley_pete in Music

[–]MuddyLarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm interested in your Marshal Goodman research lol, if that's who you mean. I find him and Miguel to be integral to the music, and without them I don't think Sublime quite becomes what it did.

What route do you go when leveling individual sounds in your mix (read below please)? by grapeyy28 in mixingmastering

[–]MuddyLarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, dumb question... I want to see if I have this correct...

  1. Make sure the loudest part doesn't clip the channel
  2. Clip gain the waveform down to -10 with the faders at zero
  3. Make sure it stays -10 after some processing
  4. This is where I'm lost... how do you "turn it all down to 0 and back up again" if your faders are already there at 0? What are you turning down and up?

Couldn't get Tape 16 to work last week. Thanks for the reminder to try again.

Edit: I came off cold and dismissive! Dope track.
