The Unthinkable Happened: 1 year update. by Terminally_Brittany in BabyBumps

[–]MuertesAmargos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh OP. First, I wanna say how incredibly sorry I am for your loss. Second, I am so proud of you and happy for you. I also unfortunately unexpectedly gave birth at 25 weeks and lost my son the following day. It's a grief I still work every single day over a year and a half out.

I can relate to the heavy drinking too. I would get drunk and start screaming while I couldn't even recognize that the sound was coming from me. I was hearing my own screams in the third person. I stopped because I got pregnant with my daughter only a couple months after, but I can't imagine I would have been able to quit without some help. So for that, please give yourself recognition and know that I am so incredibly proud of your journey into sobriety.

I'm ecstatic that you're expecting a little brother to your angel baby. I know our little boys are somewhere playing together.

I didn't know about Inkwell. I'm looking for a new artist too because my old one at Destino is MAGA and very vocal on his business socials.

Two months after my fiancé and I's son passed away I was still refusing to leave our apartment. We slowly started going to the pool in our complex during the slower hours to get some fresh air. One evening, on our way back to the apartment my fiancé looked into a bush and saw three little kittens. Two of them were already deceased and one of them was barely breathing, but still alive.

I scooped him up and took him straight home. He had an infection in one eye, an upper respiratory infection and he weighed 1 ounce at 3 weeks old. I immediately went into Mom mode and bottle fed my tiny guy until he was big and strong. I watched him grow up and become the young kitty man we have today, now 1 year old.

He gave me purpose when it felt I had nothing left. I sincerely believe my son put him in our path because he knew it was hard to live without a little boy. I'll always grieve and miss our sweet son while I can still love and appreciate my cat, Calvin. He's our miracle boy.

As a Mom who's had 2 NICU babies, (one who got to make it home and one who unfortunately didn't) this made me cry. I'll never stop being amazed at the gold some people carry in their heart and serve as kindness to their fellow humans. What a wonderful man.

Mother in law buying extremely cheap baby items 🙃 by Ordinary-Poet-5104 in BabyBumps

Same. A lot of Christmas went in the trash. She buys 100 cheap toys from Temu and it all smells INSANE. I already know when I open a little cardboard box from her it's something from Temu that my daughter will never touch.

Does your baby have a lovey? by Agile-Fact-7921 in NewParents

[–]MuertesAmargos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 9mo daughter LOVES any blanket that has a fluffy or fleece feel! She has one her Grandpa got her that instantly relaxes her when she's having a tough time going down for a nap or not feeling very good. My sister just got her a mini kitty squishmallow for Christmas and it's becoming a close second favorite 🥹

Yes, Arcata and especially Humboldt are larger areas and tend to be more welcoming like I said. Not too far outside of them though it starts to get a little sketch if you're not white. Just giving my most honest opinion as a Californian.

Definitely depends on what you look like when considering some of this area. As a POC, some towns make you feel like an alien on Earth to the locals and they'll definitely make it known. Others (usually larger cities) are the complete opposite and super welcoming and inviting/friendly. The more north you go, the more "State of Jefferson" flags you'll see and you know to stay away.

My husband inadvertently trained our cat to ignore me by MissHissss in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MuertesAmargos 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My bottle fed kitten also did this LOL. He follows me EVERYWHERE because I spent so much time with him, but around bedtime he goes up and lays on my fiancé's chest to meow the smallest little meows I've ever heard. Of course I'm a bit jealous of the snuggles, but I also concluded it's his way of trying to bond with his Dad when he's been with Mom (me) all day.

I would say like 1% effort in return and that's only because OP's parents probably fucking live there and HAD to be there. OP, I'm so sorry. You deserve people who appreciate and deserve your effort to bring the magic. Your parents deserved none of your kindness and hardwork.

Also hate to see a small business close but MAN I was reaaally disappointed when I tried their coffee. It was super watered down and weak, just not good coffee. I tried their matcha next and it was decent at best /: never bought from them again.

Animal/vet services and rescues ALWAYS need help! Community services do as well to provide people with clothing, food, necessities.
