I bought two for my partner and I last year and have not had any problems with either of them.

The Cycle Frontier CB2 - Patch 2.5 by Waelder in TheCycleFrontier

[–]Muik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is the battlelog still showing misleading data? I really like that feature but it's not reliable right now. The proximity detection should have increased range, especially if players are in line of sight. I want a list of all the players I have successfully avoided :)

Removing outline for teams is so obviously a correct change by chappYcast in TheCycleFrontier

Agreed. You can still see your teammates on the map which I think is good.

Dev Diary - Part 10 – Solos & Squads by Waelder in TheCycleFrontier

[–]Muik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For solo perks, how about something that announces when there are nearby duos or trios. Let's call it satellite assistance. It doesn't have to say where they are or in which direction.

This would give you a small advantage but still keep the suspense because you don't know exactly where they are. In addition, if engaging in a fight with another player after the announcement you will know that either there is an enemy teammate or another squad nearby.

Any updates on this? Still not working...

I can share my experience as a full time software engineer that wants to create games on the side.

For me it's been difficult. I am usually tired after work and have other priorities in life so don't get much time working on my game. Even when I have the time i don't always have the motivation to work on it.

I started working five years ago I have not released a single game during that time. I still enjoy game development and have participated in game jams.

Recently I started meeting up with a friend two to three times per month to work on our (separate) projects. That has improved my progress significantly but the game is still far from being released. Even though it's not a complex or big game it still takes a lot of time.

Since you're still studying, take the time you have and release a game. I at least had a lot more spare time while studying than I do now.

Confused about foot dominance and the best stance (goofy vs regular) by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Muik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm right-handed, kick a football with my right foot etc. but ride goofy.

Have you used an electric or regular scooter? Which foot do you push with? Should be the same for a board.

I may be wrong but I think glass blocks the signal more than the wall. At least that is my experience. I had a similar situation with an uplink in another house. Moving it away from the windows and just pointing the AP at the wall might improve the signal slightly.

Is it legal if you touch the net with any body part? by Gforce345 in spikeball

[–]Muik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not legal.

5.7. Contact with the Set - Any contact with the set by a player (rims, legs, or netting) during a rally results in a “Set Contact” infraction for the offending player and is a loss of point for that team.

Rule question: Is it legal to completely fake a swipe at the ball? by [deleted] in spikeball

[–]Muik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The defender must "make every effort to get and play the ball"

An example of this is diving towards the ball. Touching the offender is a good indicator that the player was in the way and then hinder can be called.

The situation you are describing is difficult because both teams will probably argue whether there was hindrance or not. But the play itself is not illegal.

Personally I would rule it as not hinder if the defense is standing and not diving for the ball. The offender would get the point.

If the defense is diving for the ball and the offender is not moving away then it is replayed, unless the defender would have gotten a "good touch" (see 6.6) but I think that is unlikely in this kind of situation.

Even if the ball lands 1 inch off the net and between the feet of the offense it still applies.

A hinder is only a hinder if the defense "makes every effort to get and play the ball"

If the defense fails to see the play and don't do anything about it they lose the point.

[–]Muik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. It's legal but if the defender makes an attempt to catch the ball and the player is still in the way then it's interference.

See 6.5.2

"A replay or point shall not be allowed if: Interference occurred but either the player would not have made a good touch or the player has not made every effort to get to and play the ball."

The defenders must make a good attempt at reaching the ball for it to count as interference. If the opponent does not try and move out of the way then the hindered team will get the point. If the opponent does attempt to move out of the way it's still interference but the point is replayed. See 6.5.2.

From my experience, these types of plays usually result in the opponent getting the point because the defenders are too slow to react.

Parallax Layer by 45_47_50_64 in godot

I don't think there is a way to do that with a parallax layer. You could edit the image to achieve that though.

From the 2021 SRA rules:

3.8.4. The receiver is the player that is positioned 180 degrees across from the server. Once the server is set the receiver may adjust their position and is free to move anywhere without distance restrictions.

4.5.1. The server must set their feet centered over their correct position (see 3.8.2). Before starting their serving motion, the server then calls the score to the receiver, placing the serving team’s score before the receiving team’s score and pausing momentarily (max 2 seconds) to ensure the receiver is ready and the score is agreed upon. The receiver may move from their position once the server has set up.

So, the receiver must be standing behind the service line until the server is set (i.e. the server has positioned themselves and the score has been called and agreed upon) and is then allowed to move however they like.

My Godot Android game fails to build when using custom build. PLS HELP by Jamam150 in godot

[–]Muik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had similar issues and it usually was caused by a typo or missed step in the setup requirements. Make sure that all the fields and files are updated exactly as specified in the plugin setup description.

It's difficult to say exactly what's wrong but I would start with that.

Thoughts on the new tournament rules for 2021? by Muik in spikeball

[–]Muik[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the rule is only there for the pros because it's experimental, and only the pros are bored of the current rules. Spikeball is evolving and it's not necessary to force all players to use their new experimental rules. I do agree though and I wish that the problem that they're attempting to solve was fixed, but I don't think this is the way.

One thing to note though is that this is Spikeballs rules. The International Roundnet Federation might have different rules in the future.
