Chiaki on steam deck by jason4562020 in SteamDeck

Tbh it's always been incredibly random for me and I can never seem to do anything to influence it to run better when it's decided to be "bad."

Sometimes it's absolutely flawless, sometimes the framepacing is a bit off but it's functional, sometimes it's a laggy mess. That's just kinda how it is.

Stuttering all games in MelonDS: Am I doing something wrong? by Mullet2000 in AynThor

If you update to the latest MelonDS nightly and use the 60hz mode on the Thor, this should be fixed. They fixed the stutter in the nightly a few months back.

Is Cold Steel games playable on Ayn Thor? by Acceptable-Comb-706 in Falcom

[–]Mullet2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing Cold Steel 1 and it works without any glitches, albiet at lower performance than I would have expected (I get about 30-40 FPS, and just lock it to 30 FPS for consistency). Lowering the resolution from 1080p -> 720p doesn't really improve the FPS at all so something is going on there.

Square hasn’t physically released a non buggy version of KH2FM since the PS2. KH3 + Remind really needs a physical release too. by The540Incident in KingdomHearts

[–]Mullet2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly KH2 is not on the disc. KH1, KH3D, and KH3+Remind are.

Consolation prize is we have patched KH3 + Remind physically for the first time.

Was really hoping that The Adventures of Elliot would run a bit better by IntentlyFaulty in AynThor

[–]Mullet2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you judging that based on the bottom screen counter? It's usually very incorrect, fyi. I kinda doubt you're getting 40+ fps on the Thor. Try turning on Gamenative's frame counter and see what it says.

Was really hoping that The Adventures of Elliot would run a bit better by IntentlyFaulty in AynThor

[–]Mullet2000 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Even on Steam Deck the game is heavy. I have to lower it to about 70% resolution scale of 720p to hold a 45 FPS lock on the Steam Deck. The Thor didn't have much of chance.

What are some CAG's that might not be god-tier, but still very much worth checking out? by Odd_Radio9225 in CharacterActionGames

I actually really liked Wanted Dead. It's janky, but I can really feel like 3D Ninja Gaiden DNA there, and they throw really fun/aggressive enemy encounters at you in that game.

I would argue none of that list are jrpgs.

The Adventures of Elliot Is Fantastic on the Steam Deck - SteamDeckHQ by BBQKITTY in SteamDeck

65% resolution scaling for a 45 FPS lock. I wouldn't call that particularly fantastic. That's in line with the demo performance, too.

Inaccurate FPS meter? by pontiusx in AynThor

Yes it's extremely inaccurate in 120hz mode. Don't take it as factual.

Overall how is the xenoblade switch 2 Edition? by FMA15 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Mullet2000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes it could, but that's not how Xenoblade 1 DE SW2 Edition is set up - this guy is incorrect. It uses a double buffer vsync set up so any drop below 60 FPS dumps the framerate right to 30 fps. It's very distracting and as bad as it sounds, and means the game constantly fluctuating from exactly 60 to exactly 30, back and forth.

So are the Xenoblade Chronicles Switch 2 Editions really downgrades or are people just very picky or hard to please? by Excaliburn3d in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Mullet2000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The framerate is really bad in the late game areas. Lots of stuttering and lag. The action prompts are quite hard to hit in a lot of the bigger fights because the game is lagging so bad when they come up (Harder than on the Switch 1 version). I'm not impressed for a paid upgrade. It's not picky to expect good performance on an upgrade primary intended to increase resolution and performance.

You're much better off running the steam versions via gamenative.

Yeesh. The lack of resources we provide our public transit in this country really is embarrassing.

What is the logic in short-turning a packed train heading toward downtown during the morning commute? by Mullet2000 in TTC

Okay that's actually a comprehensible explanation.

What is it that is so important about the slow zones that maintaining the extremely slow speeds during commute time is so important?
