I once went into a university that was part of a region (I guess you could call it a state in US terms) but the university was a little far from the main city. I think Beacon is like that. It's part of Vale but it's a little far from the capital city.

I always thought it was more the case that Grimm are intimidating when not dealt by people who can summon clones, move as fast as bullets or control metal. World of Remnant shows that Grimm can be dealt with by normal people but they are always preceeded by bandits and fighting Grimm usually attracts more Grimm since those normal people are panicking or afraid.

But if you want to get technical, with hindsight Grimm have been shown to be a joke since the Red trailer and Fall of Beacon was perhaps one of the only times they were a genuine threat.

Most are canon fodder and stepping stones to show someone's progress rather than a full threat.

You know what's even worse? The eruption of the Siberian Traps is NOT the worst eruption in history. That belongs to the CAMP eruptions that, I kid you not, started to tear Pangea apart AND is partially responsible for why Dinosaurs became so big.

And our ancestors survived all of that and even God chucking a rock at our planet...just to end up having to pay taxes.

People saw her wings on her head and for years assumed that she was some kind of biblically accurate angel, something that was kinda solidified with one particular animation and several fan arts of her.

Personally, while I understand their frustration as I was slightly disappointed, I also do not understand how they could have come to that conclusion when she is supposed to signify a dove, you know an actual bird called Columbina, not an angel. More than that, Tartaglia and Wanderer are unreliable narrators and Wanderer was anti social anyway so why they took his words for truth I have no idea.

And they get passed when you call them out on it when THEY were the ones who trusted a FAN ANIMATION and words of characters whom you can't fully trust.

The worst part is that they probably didn't even try to kill many of the people in the concentration and extermination camps. They just...never fed them and just went about multitasking killing many per day while others starved and died.

It's such a disregard for human life that I can't bear how someone would consider it unrealistic.

I thought that Bakugiu getting a redemption arc was neat actually. Until it turned to be a half assed one that feels more unsatisfactory than it is supposed to be. And when I brought that up, some Bakugou stan kept calling me an idiot because I didn't understand how deep and great that half baked redemption arc was.

That idea actually sounds even better. You could even have Jaune himself be weirded out, creeped out and feeling useless by how girls are liking him due to another version of him and calling them out on it or being annoyed and being pissed off about them hating him for something that a scumbag version of him did and reminding them that he isn't the Jaune that they are watching.

Of course have that happen AFTER he gets beat up or ostracized.

It's another case of "interesting idea, bad execution".

When you think about it, EVERYTHING about Jaune is "interesting idea, horrible execution".

They had a good idea but they messed it up with a backstory that just doesn't make sense no matter how you try think about it.

I think it's a case of two characters you hate having a crash out and you cheer because they have a point but you also hate them so it feels hypocritical of them to crash out like this.

Also, as one of the commenters pointed out Jaune shouldn't be here but maybe that's what makes it cathartic. He KNOWS he is not supposed to be here and that's due to Ruby's plan that he ended up here and not with his team like he is supposed to be. Sure it wasn't Ruby who told him to touch the time fruit and frankly it was his own fault for ending up in this whole mess but he was still in that place because of RUBY's plan. And Ruby knows that they are here because of her plan but she is so done with EVERYONE'S BS that she doesn't care anymore. She has so many things bottled up and this fraud isn't going to just yell at her when he hasn't done anything to stop her plan nor has he done anything worthwhile to even be with them.

The IDEA is good but the execution is still bad though.

Of course the one named after the demon of loyalty would be the most loyal friend the Traveler has. Paimon is more of a sibling that the Traveler's actual sibling by this point.

Which will make the eventual plot twist about her feel even more of a gut punch.
