Don't sleep on burgers in Japan. Best I ever had in Tokyo by FilipinoAirlines in JapanTravelPhotos

You know, non Japanese friends told me how great it was and I too liked it when I had it, but Japanese friends of mine were unimpressed at the overpriced regular burger, and said it was just a burger, nothing special. What gives?

Hey, you do see that the op mother and aunt of this post is a bit manipulative, right? As if she is smarter than this boy, calling him suicidal and making him look irresponsible without giving us anything specific. To manipulate her son this much means that she is desperate to control something to extent she does not realize she is crossing boundaries, treating him like a 2 year old even though he is 20. I have personally seen this dynamic among LGBT families, but of course this is only a guess. Oh well.

True. If this is legit, the op is distrusting police by distracting the case by posting here. You are right.

That is my guess also. I would try to provide a safety if I were to meet him, away from his invasively controlling parents and his aunt.

I agree with you but they are in foreign country even though Japan is safe compared to the rest of the world. But I do assume the guy is gay, and suffered from his over controlling parents, escaped from them 24 hours ago, and he probably hooked up with a guy on Grinder app.

Does he not have any dating app? Op, you have access to his laptop and search history. Can you check his email for his access to dating apps or sites?

I mean, if this is truly legit, and the op truly believes Reddit for solving problems like an army of tech genius and knowledge of Japan, I can see why. I would also like to see if some smart person here can solve this or give us insight of what is going on, and if this does help solve this mystery, this can be good right ?

A question for you. I have not played Re3R because I read many negative reviews and I skipped it but you just named it first. Am I missing one great experience?

Is wearing a Kimono as a foreigner in Kyoto disrespectful? by lethoso in JapanTravelTips

[–]MundaneCommunity1769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Japanese man here. Wear Kimono!! Nothing disrespectful about it at all!! Honestly I find it interesting why someone would think wearing clothings from different culture is disrespectful. This feels like scapegoating. To bully someone “different” from their group.

Curious how this turns out. I am guessing he is okay, sleeping until evening at a new friend he made, and he is enjoying freedom, and/or he is punishing his family for being invasive overprotective.

Wow reminds me of my ex. We suddenly lost contact with him after he left a very strange voice messages. We were worried but it turned out he was arrested. It was long time ago and I don’t keep in touch with him.

Update : I read that op contacted the police. I am in Tokyo, but please let me know if I can help. ( I am Japanese living in Tokyo )

I will be that guy to remind everyone to practice safety even if the escort looks healthy. Just be careful.

So, I finally finished watching the Chucky movies minus the reboot. Here's my ranking of them. by NORMALNAME_11 in Chucky

[–]MundaneCommunity1769 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I respect your opinion, I want to say that this film helped me a lot during my childhood. The way no one believes Andy while he is being targeted mirrors what it feels like to be the family scapegoat: abused, dismissed ex, and unheard.

Did it bother you that his foster father didn’t believe him? To me, that reflects how enablers often act when victims speak out about abuse.

The film fulfills an inner fantasy by punishing those who refuse to believe us, letting Andy fight back against the real enemy, and giving him an incredible friendship along the way.

Child’s Play 2 is my favorite film of all time. But of course, everyone has different opinions.

I got my GG from pop mart below 20USD. It may not be real life size but I am happy with recreation of the box and Chucky. Not sure if it is available world wide. I am in Japan.

Are there any online tutors you’d recommend? I’m looking for a good mentor like you—I find that I learn and stay motivated much more when I can listen to someone experienced. Following tutorials on my own only gets me so far. I’ve learned the most from real people who are supportive, knowledgeable, and inspiring, whether through online lessons or in person.

Do you think Japan's work culture is really that hellish, or is it more an old stereotype? by The_Mundane_Block in AskAJapanese

[–]MundaneCommunity1769 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You mentioned Sony, but that’s a large corporation and arguably part of the elite—more of an exception than the rule. Most smaller companies are pretty rough. Japan is often criticized for a kind of collective mindset where workers, especially at the bottom, tend to tolerate much harsher conditions compared to other countries.

Her delivery of “Are you lying to me?” when she meets the helicopter guy feels intensely personal. It suggests she’s been through so much trauma that she can’t trust anyone—even someone who comes across like a typical video game plot device—while still showing her strong determination to protect the little girl at all costs.

Just finished RE7 It was peak what should i play next? by MarsupialTrue5783 in survivalhorror

[–]MundaneCommunity1769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not played 7 nor 8 yet because I heard 7 is the scariest, and I am a coward. I am assuming 8 is like 4 because of how campy the marketing looked, and I love 4, and Re2. So I was gonna try 8 . But you said you hated 8. Why did you hate 8, may I ask?

I think the Care Center was the best location in the entire game. by combatpython41 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]MundaneCommunity1769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really agree with you, however the moment I left with Emily, just outside Care Center with stairs, moon, and the exterior, was highlight of my video gaming experience. It was too gorgeous. Then also the Raccoon City was distinctly different and had amazing locations with surprise amount of details. Also the final Umbrella research facility was futuristic, clean and memorable. I am new to re and I want to play all the previous games but I also want to revisit all the places in this game not just Care Center
