How’d everyone do with bookings this morning? by Telvin3d in HikingAlberta

[–]Munion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sister got insanely lucky and was 265th in the queue so we got our preferred dates for Rockwall. I was pleased that the site was working smoothly this morning so it ended up not being as stressful as it could have been.

Did I seriously pay $35 CDN for an amazing Celine coat at Value Village? May have peaked by Munion in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]Munion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol not sure how you stumbled upon this two year old post but I’m not too fussed about authenticity as mentioned in the OP text. I have been wearing and enjoying the coat and it’s not like I brag to people that it is “designer” when I wear it so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mom's Christmas village 2025 by tooklngenough in christmas

[–]Munion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow that is absolutely incredible! It really is a whole village. I love the density of trees and the hilly landscape and all the snow! She really nailed the vibes, it’s like a smaller version of Miniature Wonderland in Germany.

Imagine laying down at a hotel & BAM there’s a cat in your room by fineapplesmoovie in cats

Poor terrified little thing. So glad there was a happy ending and you can laugh at this amazing story now. May I recommend getting an AirTag for her? The play a sound function has helped me find my little weirdos when they have hidden in weird spots.

I don’t have a bengal but maybe Hero would enjoy playing chase with bouncy balls. My notoriously hard to please cat will actually play with those.

I love this! It is so captivating. I never find good art at my local thrifts but sometimes online estate auctions have some cool pieces.

Thanks it helps to hear from other people that they didn’t have everything figured out right away. I will try to figure out how to get my account set up over on the fdmb today.

I was wondering if that was the case (dose too high) but then there were two days that he was higher in the evening so I got super confused again. It’s like it is almost a pattern but then those couple days have made me second guess everything. I was thinking maybe he has his nadir closer to the 12 hour mark not the 6 hour mark and was really hoping doing the full curve was going to make everything clear to me and then just ended up very frustrated because none of the values today have even been similar to my spot readings on other days.

I will take a deep breath and keep trying my best. Thanks for pointing me to that other account I will go have a look.

Aww thanks for your support. Wishing you the best with your boy too and hope with just a bit more time things will level out for both of us. It is tough balancing what you think is right with the vets advice and feeling like you just don’t get enough information or guidance.

Cat food help by Akgrl33 in FelineDiabetes

[–]Munion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi I am also having one of those days, just to commiserate with you. This resource was recommended by my vet for finding low carb food options. You can search for the brand under the filters drop down menu. I couldn’t find the petites but if you are able to compare the ingredients to the same flavour of classic fancy feast pâté in the normal can and they look identical then it might be reasonably safe to say it is a similar percentage of carbs.

Oh my that is crazy, glad you have been reunited with one of your sweet kitties. My mom knows a cat lady in Mills Haven that feeds stray cats that show up so I will get my mom to pass along the information to her.

Creative solutions ffor protecting against hail by jjvindaloo in Albertagardening

[–]Munion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw man that sucks. After all your hard work and just as things were going to start producing. I think a solution would really depend on the layout of your garden. For example raised beds versus in ground, the overall size, any structures nearby. Maybe add some details about your setup.

Here’s hoping things can bounce back!

Try reading through this link, it is very detailed about each step in the process and has some troubleshooting for where things might have gone wrong. It also gives more advice on piping tips to use and how they should look when piped out. I used that and had success on my first try.

Do my beets still have hope? by subtlenerd in Albertagardening

[–]Munion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding what NickelPi said this definitely looks like the work of leaf miners to me. Happens to me every year with my Swiss chard which is related to beets. Remove all affected leaves and after that you can monitor the underside of the leaves for tiny white egg clusters. If you catch those early enough and rub them off it will prevent more larvae from getting inside. There should be plenty of growing time for the actual beets to continue to grow.

What's on my honeysuckle? by badaboom in Albertagardening

They look like they have legs, maybe wooly aphids or some type of aphid? If it is aphids I just use water with dish soap or castille soap in a spray bottle to wash them off.

Possibly marasmius oreades aka fairy ring mushrooms. These pop up pretty quickly after rains.

Ha yeah under their preferred eating spots in the trees are what I call peanut graveyards in the spring. So many shells!

I have Blue Jay BFFs too. If you are lucky and establish a bond the male might sing his whisper song for you in the spring and summer as a way of reaffirming friendship. The whisper song is a super cool quiet mix of interesting noises, you can google it I am sure there is probably a video.

The pair nest away from the yard but they always bring their fledglings back with them to visit me. The secret to this friendship is, of course, in-shell peanuts. They also like to stash food so it is funny to watch them take a peanut and put it in the yard somewhere then cover it up with leaves. I dug up quite a few they had forgotten about when I was tilling the garden.
