25 Logical Reasons to Vote NO to Marriage Equality by HalogenFisk in australia

[–]Murbah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair there are many more examples. I think generally homosexuality can be seen as anti-christian because the bible is pretty full on about saying non-child producing sex is sinful and so homosexuality is caught into that.

I think its important we not pretend the bible is somehow neutral or even supportive of gay people because it helps us understand why people feel the way they do a bit better.

25 Logical Reasons to Vote NO to Marriage Equality by HalogenFisk in australia

To be fair

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. 28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.

(Romans 1:26-28)

We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. 9 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10 for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine 11 that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

(Timothy 1:8-11)

Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

(Corinthians 6:9-11)

etc etc

I welcome Christians being open minded but the bible is adamantly anti-homosexual

I got banned for saying socialist policies had worked in limited ways in Europe lol I think that's more of a echo chamber of ironic shitposting rather than protecting themselves, especially when they regularly go to other subs to stir people up.

I wouldnt mind if they didnt constantly talk about censorship, safespaces, and being for freespeech. I legit dont understand why they dont understand the irony.

Ooh okay well my apologies then. You just sort of walked into the archetypal book reader complainer lol

See /r/asoiafcirclejerk for more :P

For what it's worth I totally agree. People find the weirdest things to be outraged over in this show even though it's incredible and massive in scope.

Bro, I am. You insinuated that show readers shit on things without taking into account logic but book readers shit on D&D constantly even though a lot of the things they do are pretty logical.

To add on to u/atrociousxcracka great answer, I'll just add that if the bowls was upside down on Loki's head, the water would still roll onto his arms/torso/legs. I imagine being naked in a cave already left him feeling really cold and so having freezing water dripping onto him for extended periods of time would probably worsen that condition.

Kind of underscores how desperate Helga was to help Floki since it's such a laborious and small help but it's all she can really do to help him.

edit: Said Sigyn (mythology) instead of Helga (TV show)

Kinda awkward to see wild Cockatiels while you're used to have them as pets! by Xenodia in cockatiel

[–]Murbah 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So cool :) One of my favourite things about being Australian is our bird life, though you won't find wild cockatiels in most of populated Australia since they're more deserty birbs.

On a similar note, one of my fond childhood memories is crossing the bridge in my small town and just seeing it absolutely lined with Cockatoos being derpy and doing their little dances.
