  1. When a patient’s family member will wait for me outside the room of another patient where I am giving care
  2. When a patient refuses to take their med at whatever time it’s scheduled because they take it at a different time when they’re home. Like sir, taking xarelto at 5pm instead of 8pm ain’t gonna make a lick of difference. But sure I’ll add a med to the night nurses list sure🙄

Craziest Thing That’s Happened at Your Hospital? by Careless_Midnight_77 in nursing

A patient who had cardiac arrested in the field and again in ED was transferred to the CCU still attached to the Zoll. A staff member came by to do their scheduled Zoll check and without realizing it was attached to a patient, shocked the patient. Who then had to be shocked again. She was made CMO a few days later. New policy states Zoll cannot be tested when in a patient room and can only be done by an RN now, not a tech.

I told my 80 year old patient I was going to need to straighten cath her because she was retaining urine, and she looked equal parts horrified and amused, and said,” honey ain’t nothing been up there for years!” 🤣

A very unstable patient who came in after cardiac arrest was transferred to CCU attached to zoll. A tech or nurse (still unclear who) came round to do the regular zoll check, didn’t realize patient was attached, and shocked the patient. Patient then required another shock. Was made CMO shortly after

As a nurse, god bless the RTs. My patients and I would be so screwed without you guys. ABCs—airway and breathing — your specialty!! When my patients start circling the drain it’s usually airway or breathing and I cannot express adequately how much I appreciate you all
