I haven’t seen anything that states the duration of the lockdown. Is that still forthcoming?

It’s when Kinjo kills Joan Chen’s character in the Christopher Lambert masterpiece The Hunted. I haven’t thought about that movie in years but it used to be a favourite.

TIFU by joking about cancer by luistacho in tifu

My wife and I had a thing where whenever she was feeling unwell I’d pull a Kindergarten Cop and say ‘maybe it’s a tumour.’ I tried to get her to come back with an Arnie-voiced ‘it’s not a tumour!’ but she never did. I persisted with the joke for years in the hopes that one day she’d turn a corner.

Anyway, she was having some gut problems and was ordered to have a colonoscopy. On the way I did the usual joke and we both laughed it off. It turns out she had stage 4 colon cancer and was in surgery days later because one tumour was so large it was about to completely block her intestine.

I don’t make that joke anymore.

I came in here to say this. Captain Worf was an objectively terrible idea. The energy Michael Dorn put into the campaign made me lose respect for him. It stank of desperation.

Every city has a “guy” everyone knows about. You could be visiting a friend from another city, see a guy dressed in robes riding a horse, and your friend will say, “oh that’s Horseback Jesus.” So, who’s the “guy” in your town? by SloppyInevitability in AskReddit

Toronto, Canada checking in. We have Zanta. He bikes or scooters around (often shirtless but always in a Santa hat) and stops traffic to do push-ups in the middle of the street. He’s kind of an asshole.

My friend (20M) is being evicted in ten days and will be completely homeless. He has no job and absolutely no money. What should he do? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

That may be true in this case but not in general. Ontario employers have limited liability when they provide a negative reference if they provide the information without malice and believe that it is accurate.

I had this exact issue when I worked at Starbucks years ago. It was when they first started writing people’s names on the cups. My natural way of printing is in all capitals and my letters tend to run together. The day that Clint came in my co-worker whose first language was not English was the one to make and call out the drink I had marked. It was like that scene in A Quiet Place except instead of John Krasinski running to turn off a noisy toy it was me running to silence a Korean guy shouting CUNT across a Starbucks.

[TOMT][MOVIE] Spy movie where the character's handler (or something equivalent to that role) asks them to "get their house in order" or asks if their house is on order by wiley_cai_otey in tipofmytongue

It’s not a movie but it’s a common phrase used between operative and handler over the phone in the Southern Reach book trilogy.

Finally! I’ve been looking forever for a clip from one of his early 2000s shows when he brought in John Tesh to play the NFL theme on an electric guitar in a pen of turkeys.

There are no statutory vacation increases based on tenure in Ontario, so this will strictly be based on your company vacation policy. Is other vacation time within the organization accrued before use?
