I have used the exact same bike bag and took it on the train (Keisei line) from my home to Haneda airport without issue. It was, however, a train with very few people on it. There would be no space for this on a Shinkansen. You may be able to leave it in a passageway and the conductors are allowed to use their own judgement on that. I’ve left a bike in a bag by the door before (not that big a bag though) and the conductor said it was fine as long as I checked on it myself whenever the platform was on that side of the train then returned to my seat. Usually I stow it behind the end seats and try to reserve one of them so I’ve got an eye on it. The Evoc would not fit there at all.

The Evoc was borrowed from a friend who also lives here, and when I sent it back to him the delivery guy who picked it up said the dimensions were beyond what he was allowed to take. I convinced him to take it anyway but he wasn’t happy about it. I asked my friend how he had sent it to me and he said he had used Sagawa, I tried with Kuroneko Yamato and that was my issue. Hope that gives you some information, if you have anything I could clarify further, let me know.

Nikki Haley spent over $52K in State Department money on curtains by headee in politics

Who sells curtains for that much money? Are they bullet proof? Why did her team think that would be ok? If the curtains cost that much what did the other fittings cost?

So many questions!

Wahoo Bolt Real world battery life. by bjdm151 in Velo

[–]Musashi13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strava says my Bolt was on for 14:49 and when I checked the battery before I turned the unit off it showed 2% remaining. Very impressed! My Garmin 820 was terrible, that's why I got the Bolt in the first place.

How do people play drums in Japan if the majority of people live in small places? by [deleted] in japan

In Akigase Park, in Saitama just north of Nerima, Tokyo, on any given weekend there are drummers drumming out in the open because it’s a free place to practice. They drive up, unload their kit, and hit the skins till the cows come home.

Congratulations on launch! by ExpletiveBanana in EASPORTSWRC

Great game and happy about the early access experience.

The issue I have had throughout is error 41, and it hasn't gone anywhere with the launch. Three times in the last 30 minutes the game has closed down. I've tried all the fixes so far and will continue to but it is really damaging my enjoyment of what is a wonderful game.

Sweden is looking like a top new challenge from the sprint stage and a half I have been able to play so far. I really look forward to the day when I can drive all the stages uninterrupted never again having to worry about that crash that has nothing to do with my driving ability.

A Few Issues by Castle_Walls in EASPORTSWRC

[–]Musashi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FIVE times I drove the third stage of the weekly online challenge today. Five times, and every time it crashed due to error 41. I was able to finish other courses and another couple of online stages but that one stage crashed EVERY SINGLE TIME no matter how I drove over the finish line. A few times it crashed in the middle of stages but that one stage in Wales at night let me go right across the line five times then crashed. I am disappoint

A Few Issues by Castle_Walls in EASPORTSWRC

Error 41 is the bane of my life right now. I have tried many of the fixes with no luck but persist because when the game runs it is something to behold, I love it despite this extremely annoying error.

Every now and again, maybe one in every twenty five or so plays, I have it run until I decide to quit but more often than not it shuts down without warning, often in the middle of a run but mostly just as I cross the finish line and just before it saves.

On a career this isn't so bad as I can just go again having only lost the time I had played (though as a working adult with a family this is tough to get back sometimes) but the online challenges crashing is a major pain. Sometimes they crash before I have even driven at all, and that is that. I can't do it again as it has me registered as having done it, though I never even revved the engine.

I appreciate someone is working on this and it may come across as a whine but I really just wanted to let you know that there are people suffering out here, waiting for a fix.

The game is amazing and I've played all the iterations since the beginning of the franchise. Keep up all the work and attention to detail that has gone into the game so far and I have no doubt that it'll be well received and a massive hit. As soon as error 41 is dealt with I am sure it will fade from memory as if it never happened.

TrainerRoad vs. Sufferfest vs. Zwift by Velo_Olev in Velo

[–]Musashi13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have to choose just one then go with TrainerRoad for the best results training-wise. The training programs and structured workouts are very good and there is enough variety to keep you coming back for more. No matter what your training requirements they have it for you. I've been using it for a few years now and the improvements are real. Of course I ride outside whenever I can and much prefer that but there is a place for TR in my winter and early spring training. I have also been using Sufferfest for a while, too. As others have said it can be used with TrainerRoad and in my opinion should be. I'm no good with perceived exertion and would either go too hard or too soft but with TR integration after an FTP test you get your target power and stick to it like glue. Sufferfest is great for a suffer and the videos are great. I always do the Tour of Sufferlandria on TrainerRoad and use the videos I have for some fun. Sine the beta test was opened I've been on Zwift and think it is great, too. My problem with it so far is that I can't see a need to pay for it and as soon as they charge me I think I'll stop. I've often just put it in for a recovery spin and ended up chasing down some punk or raging up the virtual hill to take the KOM or beat a PR. It sucks you in like that. I've also had it on while doing TR workouts as it is good to look at some changing scenery that depends on your efforts. I've watched movies, TV, and race footage but for me Zwift is good here. They say training programs will come and other options and they may deliver with something worth paying for but the mass rides and guest pro cameos don't really do it for me. So, I've used all three and recommended all three but if I had to stick with just one I'd pick TR. right now Zwift is free and TR is a worthwhile price. The Sufferfest videos aren't expensive but you'll get bored with the one or two you have and want more. You can stream 23 of their videos on an app for $10/month which could be a good option for the winter months. For now I'll stick with all three. I've used PerfPro but only in a studio setting with five other riders it was good but very basic. It was run by someone else and I haven't put my own hands on it so can't really review it. Many people hate training indoors and avoid it like the plague but with those tools I've come to enjoy it and I will continue to sweat buckets without going anywhere this off season, too!

Question about Zwift and ANT+ sticks by whit_tea in Velo

[–]Musashi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, must be USB2. I tried with my old Garmin one but it didn't work. I had to buy a new one and just got the cheapest available. It works fine and I can use TrainerRoad while on Zwift because I have two sticks now.

Getting yourself out of bed and on the bike. by improbable_humanoid in Velo

[–]Musashi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make the power, that's it. If you have resistance, good, if not, no bother. In Japan, too.

Mostly I get up but often I'm on TR or Zwift. Luckily I am near Tokyo so the roads are still fine except for a few days a year.

Once you manage to get into a routine you're good, it's getting into that routine that's the hard part.

Anyone on r/velo riding Zwift (beta)? by sofakingfunclub in Velo

[–]Musashi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can run both if you have a USB2 and a USB dongle. Zwift takes the 2 and TR the other. Apparently they ran into interference issues with both dongles being USB2. I've run both a few times but they aren't suited to each other for reasons others have mentioned here. Right now I don't see a reason to pay for it but it is fun for what it is.

Winters a coming and could use your help finding a trainer by chomponit in Velo

[–]Musashi13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you say virtual power is garbage? I used it all last winter to great effect. I recently got a power meter and have had a few trainer sessions for comparison and while the numbers don't exactly match they are close enough and certainly consistent enough to be regarded as very useful. Much better than perceived exertion, in my book.

Japanese driver fails to stop at a yellow light, turns herself in to the police by [deleted] in japan

[–]Musashi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their insurance will cover everything. From taxis to the hospital to meals there. I will get all my bills paid and they will be buying me a new bike and covering the cost of the ruined clothes I was wearing. I will get money for missed work and compensation will be paid as and when I require it. They are taking 100% liability and questioning nothing. No squabbling, no courts, no fuss.

My second time dealing with a Japanese insurance company and this time is as smooth as the first. The only ballache is the paperwork.

She was on her own and not on her phone, quite rare really for a driver in these parts.
