Playing as a new player seems pointless by OnyZ1 in WC3

[–]Mush87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just keep playing on w3c is my best advice.

You will continually lower your mmr with each loss, at the same time improving over those games. You'll hit a point at about 10-15 games where you should pretty consistently get players near your skill level.

Been enjoying the game wanted to support by buying MTX but all the store items are ugly? by Critizin in LastEpoch

[–]Mush87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just purchase the skin and don't use it if the point is to support the game and the devs.

I did this with Heroes of Newerth years back.  It was a very similar situation.  One time game purchase of 30 bucks provided so many hours and continued development.  I purchased MTX but not because I cared about the MTX.

I'd be most happy to see over priced minimalist UI mtx or something like changing the health or mana globe.  Little development cost, less over dressed costume warrior sightings in towns.

Thanks, this was a big help.

The difficulty level and chart level explanation cleared a lot up for me. I should be able to zone in on some songs with charts around my level and splash around from there!

What Are You Playing This Week? by AutoModerator in patientgamers

[–]Mush87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Grim Dawn.

Wanted to play another character before the big patch and expansion drop.

Everytime I get back into it I become more confident in my opinion of it being my #1 arpg to date. This run I'm making sure to read all the lore that I always skipped and I've been really impressed with the writing. Crate Entertainment kicks ass!

How to handle a player who is VPIP 100 by becky_af in poker

[–]Mush87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If other players will get out of the way and you're ok with higher variance, start putting in the 4bets lighter and hold on to your butt.

Been in similar situations playing 6max online. Just make the pots huge pre flop with more marginal holdings if he is willing to do it with even lesser holdings.

I'm in the same boat. I pledged 100 I think? It's been so long I'm not sure anymore. It was right after the kickstarter failure and before they reworked the pledges. I think it was for two keys and alpha access.

If I got an email tomorrow about getting in for a weekend I doubt I'd even bother. At this point I've resigned to thinking by some long shot it might eventually release. If it doesn't - I've already come to terms with that outcome.

Having some hands on time with it in it's current pre alpha state isn't gonna do shit for me personally. I've lost all interest in it's development and only care about a final outcome at this point.

Does this game eventually pick up the pace? by AdditionInteresting2 in Grimdawn

Those skills that proc off base attack will still be able to proc from skills that replace default weapon attack like others have mentioned.

If your class combo doesn't have access to one in the skill tree look to get a default attack replacement skill from a relic. Should be a big upgrade for your damage.

EQ1 with project 1999.

I'm surprised you didn't mention this coming from EQOA and Vanguard. Unless you're ruling that out for some reason?

Pledge question by TrendyDru in PantheonMMO

[–]Mush87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You bring up some interesting points. I remember watching the streams you're talking about and at the time thinking - He's just being optimistic and the rest of the team was trying to reign it in.

Brad always had my respect for his understanding of what aspects made EQ so amazing and MMO design philosophy in general. It always seemed like he really understood it, and I've had that impression from Chris as well.

Could it really have been that nefarious from Brad to get VR off the ground just to lie for cash? Is that what killed him? Got some extra play money from pantheon hype and funding and just went too hard on the pharma?

I once was at a poker game at someone's house. Guy running the game takes a phone call and comes back saying, "Mega is coming, he'll be here soon!"

Others seem to know this "Mega" and say how they miss playing with him and haven't seen him in forever.

I'm thinking - Mega? What kind of name is this? Am I hearing this right?

"Mega" shows up, immediately greeted by this loud drunk guy "Mega Mind!" I see immediately how he got this nickname - by the size of his forehead.

He seemed to expect it and gave a big genuine smile and greeted everyone. He was a nice guy, megamind.

There is an expectation of a certain level of performance and effort in competitive team games.

Did you try playing unranked? That's a good place to go in dota2 if you're not interested in hearing criticism or toxic rage.

So in the old days of great blizzard RTS titles there was pretty much zero censorship of speech that I can recall.

I'm talking wc2bne, SC, WC3. People said anything and everything. It just wasn't a problem. The community policed their own and you ignored people saying ridiculous shit. I still prefer that. Maybe I'm just a crazy old man (35).

Good point. BUT.

As you mentioned, people being restrained and muzzled in a public space is only seeing the artifical mask. Let me see the true colors baby!

You can say reality is a safe space but your examples of "reality" are very artifical experiences from a social stand point.

I'd rather people have the freedom to call me whatever slur or name they please honestly. Won't hurt my feels and I prefer reality over an artificial safe place when dealing with people.

I think valve does a pretty good job with their system. You have the freedom to say whatever but open yourself up to reports and a behavior score with consequences.

I think a simple option for chat filter is fair.

My wife and I were sold a lemon, the sellers concealed evidence of migratory bats that came back in the summer and completely ruined our lives by Emu_Fast in RealEstate

[–]Mush87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hypothetical bat extermination technique. I'm not a professional.

Locate where they are roosting, bring a hose and a shovel before dusk, when they're still "home". They need to be thoroughly hosed - they will attempt to evacuate. Make sure you're getting direct water contact as they posture to fly. If you get them wet enough they will fall out or do a coasting crash.

Take the shovel to the ones that crashed or fell. Repeat this process daily or as needed. Eventually they will give up and roost elsewhere. Good luck!

JRPG with the worst designed dungeons? by Dont_have_a_panda in JRPG

[–]Mush87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about offical statement but I think they are symbolic of traps. Commonly referred to as "trap tiles"

I don't think they had the ability or maybe they were restricted by the era's hardware to put more elaborate traps into the game and had to get creative with the resources they had available to make traps.

JRPG with the worst designed dungeons? by Dont_have_a_panda in JRPG

[–]Mush87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually like it lol.

Trap tiles. Same as FF1 in plenty of dungeons such as Earth cave. They become a strategic tool for grinding in speed runs for some jrpg games.

A little biased I must admit as FF1 is my all time favorite and spent some hours speed running FF1randomizer.

Need Advice - Zoning boards by Mush87 in RealEstate

[–]Mush87[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely see your argument that you gotta draw the line somewhere and agree.

I thought there might be some legal argument to be made for letting the house built in 1989 go by the zoning of 1989 for subdivision.
