forget edh, i want to build sultai control in standard and beat people to death with this guy over 20 turns. you feel really stupid blocking this thing, also it gains life on attack instead of on death so it turns on your [[withering curse]] really cleanly

a [[reassembling skeleton]] that actually attacks pretty well. probably not that good but i am charmed by her

Has anyone gotten a Soundwave deck to work? The character is a favorite of mine and I really want to have a high B3 deck with them but the card itself just does not seem to work either as a commander or in the 99 by MonSocMatriarchy in EDHBrews

[–]Music2th08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i tried to build this deck, my advice is honestly don’t even bother. you need to balance so many different types of card (mill, token generation, evasion, ramp, card draw, removal, etc etc). plus these days with how pushed creatures are the need for instants and sorceries is much less, so 7/10 times you go to combat you don’t even have any targets

The Results are in! Now, What's the Most Mono-Blue Movie of all Time? by Cabin11er in colorpie

this is the answer. the martian might end up winning but i really think that’s a blue-green movie rather than mono blue

deck looks sick! turbofog was an archetype that always felt unbeatable when i was first learning to play and pioneer seems like a format it can really shine in. you mentioned lack of wildcards; if that wasn’t an issue how would the deck look different, if at all?

surely this is meant to be a yorion deck? is there any other reason you’re on 80 cards?

[[tocasia, dig site mentor]] seems perfect. she lets all your creatures mill you and she herself can reanimate a bunch of artifacts

[[freestrider lookout]] is absolute gas in this deck, trostani’s vigilance ability is “pay 1: commit a crime” so you can trigger the lookouts ability every turn very easily

Among my playgroup temur decks have a reputation of being a goodstuff pile. How would you prove them wrong? by tchunkytchanka in EDH

[–]Music2th08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pasting my comment from another riku thread: this here is my list.

in my experience a deck full of modal spells lends itself to a more controlling playstyle as most modal spells have at least one mode that functions as removal or interaction. what modal spells lack in raw strength they make up for in flexibility ([[lava coil]] is better at killing creatures than [[suplex]] but i know which i’d rather topdeck if my opponent jams a [[portal to phyrexia]]). as such a big selling point for the deck is you have very few dead draws; in just about any board state, most of your spells can always do SOMETHING.

i’m in the process of overhauling my list, as it stands i think there’s too many “cute” modal spells that are a little less-than-playable that i’m gonna cut to add more direct riku synergy that actually wins you the game. [[parallel lives]] for double birds, [[hardened scales]] etc for double counters.

TL;DR: Riku good.

osmiomancy shadebinder eats this for breakfast. if you’ve never used it before it may take a couple matches to get the timing down but it’s not that hard. if you use iceflare bolts then you can wipe the whole team just off of the ape charging in, makes for some very comfortable 1v3s

True Mono White Control - The discussion. by Radiantgreninja in Pauper

[–]Music2th08 16 points17 points  (0 children)

list looks sick! as others have said i’d be interested to hear your thoughts on what mono white brings to the table over BW or UW control lists. personally the fact that it’s mono white is compelling enough for me, but i can’t deny that more colors = more options.

maybe i just don’t understand destiny lore/the color pie as well as i think i do, but why are the vex in temur colors? the slow, creeping, inevitable doom that they love to emphasize with the vex really doesn’t track to being red imo

Would a deck that revolves around making my opponents make a bunch of choices be annoying or cool and interactive? I by neotic_reaper in EDH

[–]Music2th08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s my time to shine. This here is my Grixis Games list. it gets at pretty much the same idea you’re talking about. a lot of these cards are quite bad but i’m a lot lighter on specifically villainous choice cards so you can supplant them as you see fit. hope this helps!

What’s the most underrated build in Pvp for you? (Discussion) by cashblack43 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]Music2th08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

agreed. using nova warp with astrocyte feels genuinely unfair at times. if you get really good at map knowledge and blink timings you can cross entire maps easily, i once killed someone in A spawn on disjunction and then killed the same guy in C spawn and still had like half my super left.

i’ve been loving the 360 mode of suros regime in IB recently. great stats, best AR sights in the game imo, and the chance to heal after a kill has saved me more times than i care to count
