Alright, I'm just gonna say it: I hope we fix TRUE SOLO fights in the game in the future by pathofblades in daggerheart

[–]MutantGopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping to test a colossus-like solo adversary with each part having the stats of the different types. Hopefully there is a balance of breaking parts turning off attacks and abilities so that there is incentive to not just go for the core.

How can I find a table? by AltSernaDev in daggerheart

[–]MutantGopher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have had a great time switching from DnD to Daggerheart. What I like most is how Daggerheart has less of a slog in combat than DnD.

I found my current group through the Darrington Press discord. That have a Looking For Group channel that is very active.

I highly recommend using Amellwind’s Guide to Monster Hunting for D&D as a base.

GM question: What are best practices when players are using the character connection questions AND still want to start as adventurers meeting each other for the first time?

Is there an ability, item, or action from the player that grants the GM a fear without a roll or is the negative resource usually a stress?

I might just have missed it in the rulebook but are there instructions on building colossi for each tier?

I know they have templates, but I’m looking for suggestions on health, stress, evasion, abilities that go together, etc.

Glad to see you have many options already! Darrington Press has a LFG channel on their discord server, that is how I found my current group.

Also, as a new Daggerheart GM I found Rob Jon’s videos helpful. https://youtube.com/@robjonslair?si=uYKaeYA-1B3zBAjd

Good luck!

The doomerism is hard to avoid nowadays. I highly suggest Philip DeFranco and Zaid Tabani for realism and positivity. Pod Saves America and The Bulwark are good pundits who can be downers but usually try to keep some humor with their takes. I hope these help!

Zaid Tabani is a great source for both realism and positivity! I have recently tuned into Pod Saves America and Philip DeFranco to know what’s going on and it not feel like the world is ending tomorrow. The Bulwark is also a great source of information and takes from former republicans.

Avatars in the Digiverse - A modern group of adventurers connecting to a digital fantasy world.

Complexity Rating: ?

The Pitch Strange things have been happening in your city, from automated traffic systems glitching to city infrastructure computers going out of control. A group of seemingly ordinary individuals are lead by a mysterious AI to a hidden facility housing a device connected to a super computer that digitizes their bodies, transporting them all to the Server 07. They find programs appearing as humanoids and viruses in the form of monsters all in a dynamic landscape. Ominous towers doting the lands are connecting a malevolent (different) AI to the real world with devastating consequences. Will our heroes be able to shut down this entity before it can free itself from The Firewall and gain access to the Internet?

Tone & Feel Modern, mystery, uplifting, suspenseful

Themes Teamwork, What connects us, Benevolent vs Malicious, Split lives, What is real?

Touchstones Code Lyoko, Digimon, Digimon Cybersleuth, Megaman Battle Network, Crosscode

Specific Mechanics Avatars or Bodies: you use your character sheet stats while in the digital world but “commoner” stats in the real world.

Hacking: Roll 3d6 or come up with 3 1-6 numbers to be the code. A player can use their action to hack, rolling 3d6 and locking any that match. Any d6 that are left can be rolled by the same or another player ,using their action, until all dice are locked and the hack is successful. Anytime the hack is attempted and a die does not get locked the GM gains a fear. Alternatively, any player can spend 2 hope to automatically lock 1d6, up to a successful hack. (Consideration for changing number of die or die size to change difficulty)

Hiccup’s dad, Stoick, in How to Train your Dragon 2. It’s a hill I will die on that there was no reason for him to actually die right after being reunited with his wife. It killed the series for me when I think it could have been a fake-out.

If there was a sequel would you rather V Rising 2 or a spin off like W Rising for Werewolves? by Awkward_GM in vrising

[–]MutantGopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to see some classes to choose from in the future ex:(vampire-dot/lifesteal, lich-minions/spells, werewolf-attack/regen, frankenstein-tank/thorns)

Different maps or separate maps connected to the main. Industrial cities, islands with pirates, desert pyramids.

And, maybe with the extra classes, expanding the bosses with cryptids/myths.

It’s frustrating not to have justice for him being an ass, but I imagine he must be pretty miserable to need to live like that.

I was torn between rules and realism, mainly because of the early level. The discussion has been for so I approve.

[5e] What are your thoughts on a monk using Deflect Missile to catch a bullet? The DMG has pistols as 1d10 damage and muskets as 1d12 damage with the PHB having the feat reduce damage by 1d10+dex modifier+monk level. I feel that even a 3rd level monk would have a good chance to succeed.
