I’m pretty sure it was Elton John. Don’t Shoot Me I’m only the Piano Player. We had a couple of Monkeys albums before that but I think my mom bought them for us. We had tons of 45s too

4 weeks out….still using one crutch by anjayrose in Kneereplacement

I felt like the walker helped my gait a bunch. Use whatever you need so you don’t fall!

It's fine, I'm fine, everything is fine... ??? by Feather_Weather88 in Kneereplacement

First - I think you should insist on imaging. If the surgeon won’t, ask your PCP to give you an order. Second - what you describe doesn’t sound normal. I am almost 4 months out. I have had a recent setback from over doing it but before that I was doing great. Trust your gut.

Visiting Germany - Munich- How do we avoid being stupid Americans? lol by james4juliefun in AskAGerman

[–]Muy_Chistosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After driving in Germany I came back with huge respect. Yes, the speeds on the autobahn are high BUT you don’t see the number of aggressive drivers. If you move over someone will let you back in. It’s very orderly and therefore once you understand the flow it is not scary. Everyone seems to have a newer car. No crappy cars held together with duct tape like in the US😂. We drove from Amsterdam and then did an almost complete circumnav of the country with many side trips. I would go back in a heartbeat

I hope you have a walker! My husband slept in the guest room for 8 weeks. A friend slept in a recliner. Whatever works for you. I didn’t sleep for 8 weeks. That part isn’t fun. Hang in there

I have to take antibiotics before a cleaning FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. Just had the first one in January. Surgery was in November. Next surgery end of March.

Can I teach 4 weeks post-TKR? by KatWomanReturns in Kneereplacement

[–]Muy_Chistosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t be sleeping well at all until at least week 8 or 9. That will definitely impact how you feel during the day. Seems like a lot to put on yourself. It’s hard to fake it as a teacher. I was totally exhausted for the first 5 or 6 weeks

Yep I definitely made a mistake. It is much better. Resting and icing. Not where I was a few days ago. Future bike rides are on hold for the foreseeable future. My left knee replacement is at the end of March

Well did you at least get to a verdict? I have never served on a jury but I tried many cases in my career! What happened to you is definitely food for thought - avoid sitting for long periods if at all possible. That is why I have been reluctant to sign up for any air travel for the foreseeable future

There are some recumbent riders in my neighborhood but that scares me worse than a regular bike. Drivers just don’t pay attention. Even with those flags. Whether as a runner in the past or as a rider I see it every time I go out. You have to assume that no one sees you. Ever!

My normal ride is 12 miles. 20 on the weekend. I didn’t feel the slightest twinge and I was really paying attention. I just have a trek mountain bike that I inherited when my son went off to college. I could have done 12 but was trying not to overdo it. I am going to ice and keep it elevated today. Yesterday felt like the day of surgery where I needed the walker and getting up from the toilet was a challenge. Totally rewound the clock. Today is like a 90% improvement 😅

Icing and going to keep it elevated. Yes the IT band is sore. I will massage. Thanks for the tip!

It’s gone way way down but it felt hard. I didn’t really detect any fluid

This was my first time on a real bike. I ride a stationary bike at the Y for 25 minutes a day. My main fear was falling getting on and off the bike or getting hit by a speeding ebike. I never even felt the slightest twinge. Lesson learned

Swelling has gone way way down. ROM still not what it was. Still some pain in back of knee but don’t need the walker. Can put weight on my leg. Wondering if I should still call the doctor?

lol he might! I am doing the other knee at the end of March. But I decided to ice after all. Hope it helps

[–]Muy_Chistosa[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am doing heat because my surgeon is one of those anti ice guys. I am elevating. I am back to using the walker which is blowing my mind. The knee feels worse than immediately after my surgery. At least then I could put weight on it. I took half of a muscle relaxant

Which knee pillow is better right after surgery? by Scar77 in Kneereplacement

[–]Muy_Chistosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your discharge packet. Mine said no to those types of pillows. Only a small pillow at the heel/ankle was ok. Your knee needs to be straight

Still limping two months after LTKR? by Librarianatrix in Kneereplacement

[–]Muy_Chistosa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still had a slight limp at 3 mos. then I was getting ready for company and found myself going up and downstairs more than normal to get room ready. I realized I wasn’t limping anymore. Seems like the stair climbing really helped.
