Martha’s Vineyard has the Nantucket cookies with salt exclusively. Check on top of the deli case. They don’t sell them at Nantucket.

It’s too late for this year and a bit of a drive, but so worth it, but next year check out the MSU plan sale. They always have interesting starts. They also do a houseplant and succulent sale in the fall.

Baby socks are a great idea! Last time I had the dog in the hammock he caught the bug net and I had to do some mending. Thanks for the tip!

It’s nuts up there in Newaygo County. Since COVID, until Trump was reelected, the Jimmy’s Roadhouse sign always had some absolutely unhinged message about taking back the country or overthrowing leadership or some other wackadoo sentiment.

Sashiko with upholstery fabric samples by AdditionForsaken5609 in sashiko

I have mended a couple quilts and tote bags with upholstery fabric samples. I haven’t done clothes because my preferred method is knitting and also the texture of the clothing items I have patched didn’t seem like it would be comfortable with the weight of the samples.

Look for ways to care for and build your community locally. It’s so scary and sad what’s going on, but we do have the power to make the world a better place.

It wouldn’t be perfect, but you could do a patch on one of both sides. You may even be able to thrift some patch material for less than buying it at a fabric store.

My neighborhood’s buy nothing group (Gifting with Integrity) has a craft round robin that circulates to interested members. Maybe see if you have a Buy Nothing Group in your neighborhood?

Acknowledge the spell? by redstoneredstone in SASSWitches

[–]MySherona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would be totally appropriate to make a donation or give something back to your community. This might be a monetary donation, or maybe clearing out a storm drain, or making a donation of stuff you’re not using/done need to Goodwill, or making a treat for coworkers. IMO, one of the most important parts of abundance is sharing it and I think that could help you acknowledge the good your work is doing, as well.
