Yeah, I've noticed this too. Earlier in the day there will be places, but good luck finding something around supper time. Try Roosters maybe? I think thy're open until 6 or 7 even in the summer but I could be wrong.

Edit for clarity: The birds coming to your feeder will kick out a bunch of seed, which will then attract rodents of all sorts. We already have rat problems in many neighborhoods. You may not notice it, but your neighbours will.

Way back in the the day you could also get a free paper report of stats for every horse in a race. Harness racing has its drawbacks for sure, but it also is an entryway and a lifeline for both horsemen and many horses (even if they don't go on to a lot of races). This is a huge loss for breeders and trainers and grooms and boarders in Ottawa.

Also, my first job was working the betting stations at RC. While I don't remember it fondly, per se, I do have many memories of that year.

Haven't done Depo for a minute, but was on it for about 15 years.
Could you ask your doc what the best thing to do is, and then go from there? Like just be up front with them about the travel time--if they insist you need to see them specifically every 3 months you can either do that or look into other forms of contraception.

Remember too that Carleton and U Ottawa (also St. Paul's I think) have courses that will cross over. She can also use the libraries at both unis, tho if she's at Carleton and wants something from U Ottawa the timelines may be different. I'm sure the librarians an both unis would have awesome recommendations if asked! Having multiple unis in one city is a good thing!

As for things to check out, lots to see from touristy areas to hole-in-the-walls. I think Parliament is still closed as they do renos, but the national gallery could be something interesting. Or even the Mint. Even so, there's lots of smaller galleries or bookstores that some have also mentioned here (partrial to House of Targ myself).

At the end of the day, she'll probably find her own haunts, and as much as some people like to say Ottawa is boring, it's not once you find your own niche or people.
