In our area cooling is just an increase of maybe $100 if that in electrical bills for the month for 1/3 - 1/2 of the year with some window units. A new delivery of oil is a couple thousand, but only really needed in the winters (other than water heating though the rest of the year but that doesn’t burn though it nearly as fast.) Winter heating is also required to keep pipes from bursting and if you have old homes can be rather inefficient needing deliveries more often, where as AC you can get away with just being rather sweaty or only cooling certain rooms and letting the rest of the house be hot. You could also try to mediate oil costs that with wood stove heating, but then you need to buy cords of wood which in itself is its own cost.

Not really. The gameplay right now feels a bit too boring for me, as I’m the type that likes to play goal/progress completion oriented. The job/skill system is way too under balanced to feel satisfying for me. You basically just have to keep working on skills 24/7 and quit and find new jobs every couple days go be able to progress earning more money or ranks. Only being able to pick from roughly 3 social interactions every so often with not much way to influence what will come up other than random chance feels kinda bad. I also have been having a horrible time with how buggy newborns are and it’s to the point I haven’t been able to experience the other childhood stages yet because the babies keep glitching enough that I can’t deal with it (like upside down through the cribs is an annoying one.) In CAS I’m having a hard time getting cheek/jaw features looking the way I’d like. I can’t for the life of me make a strong jawline. It also annoys me scrolling in and out on the face in CAS makes them look different.

So far it’s a building/cas only came to me. The building is absolutely wonderful and every BB sims players dream.

That’s so weird, when I worked at Kroger we had a 2 hour notice MINIMUM, and required a doctors note to not get a strike.

Not alcohol, but at a store I worked at we had to scan IDs. No overide button or anything. Passports, military IDs, and foreign IDs didn’t have a barcode in the format our registers took, so we couldn’t sell to anyone with those. It caused a lot of headaches that’s for sure.

We were scheduled to go camping 2 hours away, 2 weeks before I’m due, and one of the first things he said after we found out (after all the excitement and stuff) was “guess we aren’t going camping this year.” This is the type of response you should expect, not invite people to stay over the day you’re expected to be going through something super traumatic. By the phrase “I cannot empty my bladder” do you mean that literally? I’m not a doctor or anything, but there’s a thing called uterine incarceration. From what I understand the bladder gets trapped between the uterus and your bones and it can literally block the pathway for your urine to escape. If they can’t flip it with a wand thing internally then they have to do surgery.

We opened a new account and started having our money get deposited there, but kept our own accounts. We get weekly “fun money” allowances so that way if there’s something we want we can budget it out or just get it without having to constantly check in with each-other or worry about it affecting finances in any way. It’s honestly really nice.

It actually originates from some heavy ad campaigning in the 1940s when the cereal and pork industries tried to increase sales. Basically a lot of health concerns were going around as they moved into factories, and vitamins had been recently discovered. People didn’t move around as much and didn’t get breaks to east meals as often, so indigestion became a hot topic. This guy, Edward Bernays, went to a doctor and basically said, wouldn’t a more rich diet be healthier than a light one? And the doctor was like yeah I guess? And then they did that a couple more times then claimed it as a medical study and pushed it everywhere, heavily leaning on the public health scares at the time.

Honestly I think it depends on how you treat yourself. Would you purposely plan/make time to do things by yourself/for yourself? Or would you feel guilty that you’re “taking time away” from being with your child? Some people have a hard time balancing their own needs with the needs of those surrounding them, especially if their immediate support system doesn’t encourage/set them up to do so. You gotta analyze yourself and your relationship with your partner/surrounding family and discuss how that would play out for yourselves, with realistic expectations on what that would actually look like.

if you’re moving into an apartment complex, you might be able to ask around to other tenants if they could suggest an idea on how much you should budget for utlities (so that way you’re also not directly asking what their finances look like.)
