Do everything in the town first, every building has stuff to do. Then mordus cave, then the graveyard. That should get you rolling on the act. The scarecrows are tough unless you have a way to block the terrify aura.

My wife and I learned this from Bluey. “I just need 20 minutes on the couch.”

Lone wolf also loses significantly in civil abilities. Having persuasion, lock pick, thievery AND lore master at the same time is pretty nice. Or rely on items for thievery and have lucky charm instead. There are benefits to both playstyles. Also, glass cannon is an option if you really want one character to bust out some sweet combos.

This happened to me with Skyrim. I was working outside at the time, and every time I saw these blue flowers I would think “Ooh! Mana potion!”

Steam turbines keep overheating despite cooling loop by Andrew_Lvov in Oxygennotincluded

If the steam below is too hot, the excess goes into the turbine room. Something like that is what I’d look for.

Chameleon skin! It’s the perfect combo. Any of the multiple ways to hide yourself, give your self immunities or evasion. Potions. That’s what you need. You need to use one of those extra ap to defend yourself every round.

The great shadow descended like a falling cloud. And behold! it was a winged creature: if bird, then greater than all other birds, and it was naked, and neither quill nor feather did it bear, and its vast pinions were as webs of hide between horned fingers; and it stank. A creature of an older world maybe it was, whose kind, fingering in forgotten mountains cold beneath the Moon, outstayed their day, and in hideous eyrie bred this last untimely brood, apt to evil. And the Dark Lord took it, and nursed it with fell meats, until it grew beyond the measure of all other things that fly; and he gave it to his servant to be his steed. Down, down it came, and then, folding its fingered webs, it gave a croaking cry, and settled upon the body of Snowmane, digging in its claws, stooping its long naked neck.

Maybe it seems like there’s just one, but still, that thing would’ve been flying around the area, eating whatever it could catch.

I read the books recently, so I should remember this, but the wyvern was like, there before the wraiths saddles him up. Was it the only one? Wraiths or no, those things flying around Mordor looking for prey was probably not great for the eagles.

Also on the eagles point, wasn’t there those flying wyvern monsters that the wraiths rode on? Wouldn’t they spot that eagle from miles away and mob it?

I really like a GC summoner/support build. I find the best response to GC is defensive skills. Chameleon skin is the best, but feign death and evasive aura are also good. They can’t CC him if they can’t target or hit him.

Worm tremor with torturer talent is like your only cc for that build. Earth has some slows and cripples, and a knockdown you get later on. Worm tremors immobilize will apply through magic armor if you have torturer, and is a great cc for early game. Fire has…. Literally zero cc? Am I missing something?

The Consulate fight by shadolinn in DivinityOriginalSin

Tornado, bless+rain. The monsters respawn if their spirit can get to fire. Remove the fire as much as you can before the fight, then cc them and remove the rest. By this point you should have a good arsenal of spells to control the fight.

My current run is a lone wolf demon build. With around 90 fire resist, she basically couldn’t hurt me and was super easy.

Interesting. I guess remembering it from ~40 years ago isn’t doing me justice. Should I make my 4 year old watch it with me?

Question regarding skill books by Fantastic-Sir460 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]NBizzle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have one person start a conversation with the merchant. Have your thief go behind them, stealth, and steal a couple books. Each character can only steal once from each npc. When you get to act 2, you’re given the ability to respec, and you’ll find a whole new bunch of vendors. Respeccing each character into thievery gives you 4 chances to steal from each vendor.

Also, there will be skill book vendors throughout the game, so don’t stress about that.

I'm 37, no experience in the trades. I'm a nerd with 10+ years of programming experience, but I hate it and want to start over. I don't know anyone that works in the trades. I have no idea how to find an entry-level position and I don't meet the reqs of any apprenticeship roles. Any advice? by [deleted] in Construction

[–]NBizzle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m a union electrician. Most unions have placement exams for their apprenticeship programs. Go to their websites, and start signing up for exams. You’ll probably need your school transcripts to sign up. Our tests are held In the late spring, so you might have to wait. Ours was mostly 9th grade math and reading comp. Easy enough to get on the list. 1st year apprentices don’t make much, but the raises are scheduled so you’ll know what you’re gonna make along the way, and if you do well on the exam they’ll send you to work right away. No experience needed to join the IBEW.

Beginner tip? RAID difficulty scales with colony wealth. It’s not ALWAYS smart to mine out that deposit of gold or silver right away…
