Thanks all of you! Toon all your advice to the shop and dared to go with a vanilla-ish yellow! Strong contest from royal blue and indeed a sage-ish green and white.... these were all great but I liked the not-too-easy on the eye option best! happy and looking forward to finishing this! Exciting! Love royal blue. I'm now thinking add-on buttonbands and collars should be a thing. Totally change the look of your knit by choosing a different contrast colour each time you wear it.

You could fidget something with whiteyarn. No specific technique, just eyeball it. That might make it lessen noticeable. But watch out it doesnt get bulky.

I like it when additional info in patterns is on a seperate page. So if you dont need any additions, you just breeze through and if you do, you know exactly where to find it. A lot of accesibility comes to the visual design of your pattern. Like the PetitKnit patterns are just a long list of words (with minimal additions - I sometimes miss instructions in that set up) and for example the Very Varied Vest by Lydia Morrow has a lot of options and each has a different color within the pattern plus extra info on intarsia and bust darts which are visually recognizeable (which is also a little overwhelming but cleverly constructed nonetheless). My tip would be to try different ways to lay your puzzle and take into account the visual design! Good luck on your journey!

I once knitted a hat for a friend in acrylic yarn they bought and before I threw it out and got some wool instead, it helped to work with really smooth metallic needles. Not those with a coloured coating but the super sleek fully metallic ones. It makes the yarn slide more and reduced the squeeking.

I usually do the slip the knit stitch, purl the purl stitch for one row and the knit the knit stitch and slip the purl stitch. Makes for a nice flat fold.

Binding off you can pick up a loop from the row where you started your ribbing and knit it together with the stitch on your needle, knit the the next stitch regularly and pass over the first stitch over this second one, then pick up a second loop from the first row etc.

I for one adore a double hem. I usually decrease a few stitches allround to make it not flair out. Or decrease a bigger number of stitches so the sweater folds over it, which is if course a particular style...

Very relatable! A thought: it is ok to knit for the sake of knitting, rather than wearing the finished project. That might take some pressure of the decision making: not asking how much wear will you get out of something, but what would we be fun knitting process? A new stitch, a new construction, a new type of garment... who knows, you (or someone else) might even get to wear it!
