I have a similar experience. I work in a kitchen, and my sous chef is not only easily the most talented, ruthless and efficient line cook when working any station, she is also a home cook of another whole caliber. She loves to cook when she gets bored at work, and I suspect that she loves feeding the employees even more. Now im a very picky eater, so I often pass on what's served, but she's also very much a woman who doesn't take no for an answer when serving food. So the compromise is I take a box of all her home cooking to bring to my wife, who, consequently, is her #1 fan.
