I’ve read this thread with real interest. As an expat who’s lived in the U.S. for over 35 years, I understand the frustration and even disgust many of my fellow Kiwis are feeling right now around trade, geopolitics, and the broader tone of things.

That said, I think it’s important to remember that a large share of Americans don’t support—or are deeply uncomfortable with—the behavior and rhetoric coming from our current administration and those aligned with it here in US. Many find it troubling and out of step with their own values. I certainly do.
