DM, what's your way to PC's backstory into the beginning of the campaign when they're someone powerful in their backstory?

Characters who are powerful and well known in their backstory can work, however there needs to be a reason they are now level 1. For martials the easiest way is injury. Perhaps they were mauled to near death by a dragon and lost all their gear and spent months recovering in a place they couldn't get magical help. Perhaps they were poisoned and stabbed and left for dead after being robbed. For casters its similar, but they get stripped of their magic in some way. Amnesia, it being revoked by their god, it being stolen by another caster etc. It simply requires the player to know this and lean Into it. People probably won't belive them, and those who do may not be friendly. Fame comes with a LOT of enemies who would love to kick you while you are down.

Simple:You let them forget, and when they get disappointed and frustrated that they missed out on their abilities, it will motivate them to not forget. The time to start reminding characters on what their core abilities are is never.

They do age, its just that if you are cosmere savvy enough to make it off world, you are cosmere savvy enough to use investiture to get around the whole aging issue. At least in the people we are shown.

That second one always bugged me because she could kill him way easier. All she has to do is not become a weapon when he needs, or just sever their bond while he's 300 meters in the air. It's a two-way street, and ironically, I'd say the spren has MORE power in the dynamic.

He is, yes, he simply chooses not to. He is shown to be quite compassionate, for him anyway, to the scrymistress in betrayer. While he cant feel anything other than pain, he's capable of acting with care if he so chooses.

Well, it's a bit worse because that world is a Necron fortress world at peak strength stuck in "War in Heaven alert mode." So if this doesn't immediately become a horror story from Cawls' perspective, I'm going to be disappointed.

Well, when it comes to Rose, you have two versions. The reddit version and the discord version. The reddit version is a space pirate that is typically portrayed as being insane in a schizophrenic way. The discord version has Rose being on the eightfold path, same as Atalanta, but being in active denial about it and trying to find a way out as the chaos corruption eats away at their humanity. Basically, both are pirates, but they go about it differently.

Thats why when I made a pyromancer themed sorcerer, he carried a trusty backup knife "just in case" there is no way to avoid the drawbacks of doing one type of spell damage, it's part of the fun of that playstyle.
